Guilin 2026 Calendar of Events

I had a two day private tour of Guilin with English speaking guide Janet. She was very punctual and took me cruise of wonderful Li River, guided me to the Sanjie dreamy show in Yangshuo, guided me to Reed Flute Cave and Yangshuo country side. It was a fun and informative trip. I highly recommend booking this trip with Janet as she is very knowledgeable of the area in Guilin and Yangshuo!!

We had a memorable visit of Guilin because of Lily Cao, our great local tour guide. She is so proud to show the beauty of this city and its surrounding areas. She is very knowledgeable, attentive and sweet. She also has a motherly instinct, took care of us like her family. She built a relationship that meant to last. She loves what she does and does it with pride. She is an excellent representative of the company that she works for, a true asset! And not to forget, we also had a great driver, Mr. Leu

Ellen was an incredible tour guide and the driver was great also! Booking this was super easy and the pick up and drop off at all the locations was very smooth. Ellen was very informative about everything and enriched my experience. She took me to places where there were not many tourists to get a local feel. She even gave me recommendations for the rest of my time in Guilin. I would 100% recommend Ellen and this tour.

This was an overall favorite tour in China for me snd my daughter. The scenery was gorgeous and everything was taken at a nice pace, which makes a big difference. Our tour guide Chase was excellent company, giving explanations, answering questions, but also letting us just have some space to take it all in. The lunch provided was at a local farmers house and was delicious. Everything about this tour was fantastic. I’d do it again! Chase paid excellent attention to our interests and then made special efforts to help us with them, such as taking us to a high quality but affordable pearl shop at the end of the day. We loved shopping here and were taught how to distinguish real pearls from fakes.

Fantastic adventure trip. Highly recommended. My tour guide was very well-read and super friendly. A people-oriented experience. Culturally, there was a lovely show in the Longhair Village that explained the tradition.

Unfortunately I wasn't well when we arrived in Guilin, she took us to a hospital near our hotel and I saw a doctor or 2 that morning. She navigated us through the Chinese health care system and we were on time to catch the Li river cruise. She pointed us all the spots to take pictures and we counted all the horses... Then we returned to the hospital and I had a scan of my heart and we saw a cardiologist just before hospital closing time. I am now on the mend. Thanks Lily.

Lily Cao is an excellent tour guide. We booked a private 3 night 2 days Guilin tour which included the Li River cruise. The minute she picked us up at the train station until she dropped us off, we were not disappointed. She's through, explained what to expect & gave us lots of info & history of every places that we went. She wanted us to know about Guilin & have a great experience in Guilin & we certainly did! You can tell she loves to share her stories & history. She made us feel welcome & safe. Thank you, Lily, can not ask for a better tour guide.

Steven was a very knowledgeable guide. He’s extremely polite, patient and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed it! the scenery was beautiful, food was delicious!! We paid for the optional performance in Longji and really enjoyed it.

We had a great time visiting these beautiful landscapes. The pick-up was on time, the group was small, 6 people. The car was pristine. And our guide, Jay, not only was he knowledgeable, but also he seemed very enthusiastic about nature and the area. He answered all our questions. The restaurant we had lunch was very nice, had a wonderful view, and the food was great. We had bamboo rice and pork filled mushrooms. We recommend this company and this tour to anyone who visit Guilin

We loved the whole trip with our great German speaking guide Julia. Just the three off us wandering through the fields and enjoying the magnificent scenery. Another highlight was the lunch prepared for us by a local farmer family, very friendly people and delicious food prepared from fresh ingredients. Overall, a great day out.

During harvesting and photos taken from cable car. We wish we could help up with the farmers but it was raining. During harvest now, it resemble gold field. I would expect the growing will be all green which is a different beauty altogether.

Lilly Cao has great knowledge of Guilin history. She spent time to explain with patience and passion Thank you Lilly for the memories. Will see you again.

Days 8 - 10 on our 17 day tour. Arrived in Guilin by train from Zhangjiajie - Monica met us with a smile, took us for a great lunch and helped with the transfer to the hotel in Guilin; the Shangri-La - which was fine for the overnight stay but not overwhelming. Following day was the Li River cruise down to Yangshuo - comfortable boat with seats reserved at a table for our family group of 6 on the upper deck. Busy but not too crowded on the boat, plenty of space at the railings on the top deck to take in the spectacular scenery passing by. Then transfer to the hotel in Yanghuo - the Sugar House, which was superb. The hotel is in an old sugar refinery but the conversion has been done in great style, the rooms were very high quality with a view out onto the cast mountains surrounding the hotel; great hotel restaurant and bar - highly recommended. Next day, a walk through Xingping in the morning, which was ok - but then cycling along the river bank and soaking up the views was sublime; bamboo rafting wrapped up followed by a beer fish dinner (local speciality and very tasty). Monica was awesome the whole time - always a bright smile and positive demeanour, she brought packed lunches for the river cruise, managed to secure the tickets we wanted for Impression Liu Sanjie show (spectacular), kept an eye on the weather forecast to flex our schedule to get the best possible conditions for the outdoor activities and gave great recommendations for restaurants and menu selections.

During our 3 day visit to Guilin we had a day trip on the Li River cruise through some stunning natural scenery this was well worth a day out.

Guilin is a hidden gem a lovely city with incredible views Although the weather wasn’t the best for the river trip it was still well worth viewing the unusual countryside Down town had a great vibe without the crowds of the bigger cities Janet our guide, like all the guides we had in China was great with a good knowledge and a willingness to assist
