Mariana was a fantastic guide. It ended up just being my husband and my self so she was able to tailor the walk to our specific interest. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about Mexican history and culture. Would highly recommend!

We got to know Guanajuato with Mariana!!!
Mariana was an incredible guide. She gave us the necessary time to explain to us professionally and pleasantly about the culture, the history, and to give us many tips to enjoy the city and its surroundings. She knows the subject very well and does it with great joy; she made us have a wonderful afternoon.

This was such a reliable and affordable way to get from the airport into Guanajuato. Driver was waiting at the airport with our name. Got us there safely (even with the crazy traffic!). This worked out so well that we ended up booking the return ride back to the airport as well. Would recommend!

A great overview of Guanajuato!
Manuel was a wonderful guide and gave us a great overview of Guanajuato's history and important sites. Best of all, as he has lived here his entire life, he was able to give us a personal recount of his experiences living there. Thanks Manuel!

Private Day Tour to San Miguel from GuanajuatoTexSLP, Jul 2026
Great Way to See the Town of San Miguel de Allende on Limited Time
Mario picked us up promptly and respected our wishes on what we wanted to do on our private tour to San Miguel De Allende.
On the way there we stopped at the protective town of San Miguel and the Sanctuary of Jesús Nazareno de Atotonilco which is in the outskirts of town.
The fortified town, first established in the 16th century to protect the Royal Route inland, reached its apogee in the 18th century when many of its outstanding religious and civic buildings were built in the style of the Mexican Baroque. Some of these buildings are masterpieces of the style that evolved in the transition from Baroque to neoclassical. It consists of a large church, and several smaller chapels, all decorated with oil paintings by Rodriguez Juárez and mural paintings by Miguel Antonio Martínez de Pocasangre. Because of its location, San Miguel de Allende acted as a melting pot where Spaniards, Creoles and Amerindians exchanged cultural influences while the Sanctuary of Jesús Nazareno de Atotonilco constitutes an exceptional example of the exchange between European and Latin American cultures. Its architecture and interior decoration testify to the influence of Saint Ignacio de Loyola’s doctrine. We then drove to a mirador, a viewing area, of the entire town of San Miguel de Allende. So beautiful. From afar the lovely Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel
stood out. We went down to the church to see it up close.
The iconic Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel features a neo-Gothic pink stone facade built between 1880 and 1890. Designed by indigenous stonemason Zeferino Gutiérrez, it replaced the modest 17th-century baroque structure that was originally constructed after the town's founding in 1542.We were given some time to enjoy the plaza nearby with plenty of shopping and food. We then headed back to our hotel in Guanajuato. Great experience!

Great Way to Get a Taste of Querétaro, the Cradle of Independence
Our driver Alejandro gets five stars from us for his in-depth cultural knowledge. He provided us many details as we made our way to Querétaro from Guanajuato. He made sure we felt comfortable and got us back to our hotel safely and in a timely manner after a jam packed day. We visited the Querétaro aquaduct with its Roman-style completed in 1738 to provide drinking water to the provincial capital of Querétaro. We saw it and a lovely view of the city at the Mirador de los Arcos, and then walked over to Panteón de los Queretanos Ilustres. It was directly across from the lookout. It featured the mausoleum of Doña Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez (a foundational hero of the Mexican War of Independence; famous for risking her life in 1810 to warn Miguel Hidalgo that his plot against Spanish colonial rule had been uncovered, prompting the Hidalgo's famous "Grito de Dolores") and other prominent Mexican independence figures. Alejandro then took us to a museum we really wanted to visit the MUCAL Calendar Museum which we loved! Then we visited the Pena de Bernal, one of the tallest monoliths in the world. The scheduling of our tour we would give two stars as we waited for our tour guide at our hotel 15 minutes prior to set time of departure, 8 am with no one there until 915 AM. I had to WhatsApp the company which did not respond until after 9 and then promptly sent us a driver. Our tour did not start until 915 AM. It may have had to do with me booking it at 7 PM the night before? It did show the option to book though. It appeared the person in charge of scheduling dropped the ball. I would recommend looking out for a confirmation message prior or reaching out to the company on WhatsApp which is on your confirmation email to make sure everything is scheduled and ready to go.

Walk you will remember
This was a perfect tour for our 25th anniversary, the guys had us laughing and kept us on our toes all night. The part my wife really liked is that they got me out of my comfort zone and really enjoyed our time walking the alley ways.

Absolutely top notch historical enlightenment!
John’s historical walking tour exceeded our expectations. We joined John very early in our visit to Guanajuato City so that we could get an overview of the land. We knew it was focused on history but what we learned left us a lasting impression. It was evident that John loves Guanajuato and his studies showed not only his love of the city but his knowledge of Guanajuato’s importance place in the history of Mexico as a whole. We would highly encourage you to join John on his insightful and memorable walking history lesson through the streets of Guanajuato City.Laura and Robin
