Galway Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

We had a wonderful experience on our small-group tour with Lally Tours in Galway. Our guide, Michael, was informative, charming, and made the entire trip enjoyable. He shared so much fascinating information throughout the day and was happy to answer all our questions. Our visit to Kylemore Abbey was wonderful. The gardens were beautiful and the Abbey was breathtaking.A highlight was visiting Joyce Country Sheepdogs, where we enjoyed a lesson in sheep herding. The short-haired Border Collies were absolutely amazing to watch—they were intelligent, energetic, and incredibly well trained.Michael’s knowledge and friendly personality made the trip truly special. It was a fantastic experience, and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Galway!

Absolutely incredible! We loved the islands! Our tour guide set us up with the most incredible horse and carriage for the island. We had such a fun experience and would do it again in a heartbeat. Bring some Dramamine for the ferry over- it was no joke! Sit up on top if you get seasick easily. You might get wet but I promise it’ll be better than sitting below deck.

We had a perfect weather day for our tour! The bus was comfortable and our guide John B was the best. He's a Master at driving the bus on these narrow roads and giving us a full description of the history while driving! He was personable and engaged with his passengers. I recommend considering this tour and other tours they offer.

Fabulous and do the sheep dog tour! Patrick our guide/ driver was incredible- extremely knowledgeable helpful and personable. Gorgeous and bring warm clothes for the cliffs

My daughter booked our tour to Cliffs of Moher. I really enjoyed seeing the beautiful Irish countryside. Our guide/driver John B did an outstanding job of giving us local history, lore and culture. We had a lovely, sunny day to explore the castle, cave and cliffs. Our lunch stop was tasty and even though we ran a bit over at the restaurant, John had us back to Galway on schedule. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

We had a great driver/tour guide. Funny guy with lots of great information to share. The tour was punctual and departure times were clearly communicated along with options for activities at each stop.

We had a good experience with thus tour company on a recent trip to Connemara. The check in was easy, the driver was very good (Francis). I felt a little sorry for him, as he had to do the commentating and driving, and some of the roads were a little tricky. He managed well though.

The host did a great job explaining who and what we would be watching. Both the musicians and dancers were spectacular. Great two hour show that flies by.

We loved this small group tour to the Cliffs of Moher and the island of Inisheer. Our driver/guide was excellent and provided great descriptions of the Burren on the way to the Doolin pier and kept great track of our small group, making sure we all were on the ferry at the end of our time on the island. We made a few stops on the way to the cliffs and could get out to photograph scenic sites. The views of the cliffs were amazing and it was fun to explore the island. We did the horse and buggy ride to get around the island and walked a bit too. The fee seemed reasonable as we really had a great experience for the money. The day was about 9.5 hours from leaving our hotel to returning to the meeting spot and it was nice not to have to drive ourselves on those narrow roads. We would definitely would recommend this small group tour to the cliffs and island.

Friends had recommended we see the cliffs by boat so we decided to book the tour. It was excellent! One of our favorite sights!

We really enjoyed our walking tour! It was quite rainy and we almost canceled but decided to stick with the plan and we were really glad we did! Our guide had a rain plan that worked great and we got stories and history that helped the town come alive for us. Highly recommend!
