Erzurum Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Erzurum is such a beautiful place to see historical monuments like the castle and a wonderful city to experience true Turkish culture! SilkRoad Moments treated us so well and definitely helped create some special moments for my friends and I that we will remember for the rest of our lives!

We went in the spring when the waterfall was super full and it was so cool. We also got to see some 1000 year old ancient ruins of a church. I loved the waterfall and we got ice cream!

The people are so nice! They took very good care of us. They were well informed on the sights. I was amazed by the places we visited!

The guides Vahit and Şeyma were definitely a joy to be with. They were open to what we wanted to do and when … like eating, type of food, how much time we wanted to stay at different sites, etc. I enjoyed hearing the history of the area. The guides were knowledgeable and patient in answering all the many questions we had! Also, we booked last minute( as in 2 days before), Zach was gracious and so willing to go the extra mile to get us on a tour. The van we traveled in was comfortable and perfect for our group: 6 adults and a 3 yo. Make sure to wear good walking shoes and dress for the weather! Thankfully we were prepared and the experience was great.

I thought this tour was especially enjoyable. The city is beautiful in the winter with the mountains as the backdrop for most of the tour. Everything from the old castle walls to the ancient mosques was beautiful and the tour guide was really helpful with any and all history questions.

Great time with our guides they were so amazing and friendly. Also so knowledgeable about the city! Absolutely loved our time in Erzurum!

It was so fun to see all different parts of the city and get a real range of Turkish culture in Erzurum! I loved the hospitality of the people especially at an old historical home we visited. Highly highly recommend!

Favorite parts were seeing the old architecture and the magic road! It was amazing what can be seen in such a short time!

We had a blast touring around Erzurum and participating in a scavenger hunt to help us get to know the city. We saw beautiful old homes, the old historical castle, and got to interact with locals despite knowing zero turkish. The whole tour felt very safe and personable and really bonded us closer together as a group. Love love love and would recommend to all!!

It was a great day to view the city and learn about its history. The tour guide was very useful for translation and answering questions

Amazing tour, great hosts! Everything was taken care of for us, got to see the amazing city of Erzurum

Our guides Zack and Jennie were just fun to be with. They gave good historical facts along with fun stories to go with it. My favorite part was visiting an old home/museum and dressing up like a Sultan and Sultana. Great day!
