Dong Hoi Travel Guides (Updated October 2026)

We had two great guides: Nick and Viktor! They had good knowledge of the caves, attentive to what we wanted, friendly, very good in english and they made the day go really smooth. They were also very good with kids - our boys aged 9 and 11 loved the experience.

My wife and I did the Paradise and Dark Cave Tours. We did the Paradise Cave tour with Nick as our guide. Nick was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable and interesting, with a great understanding of how the cave was formed and who discovered it and when. His English was perfect and he kept the group well informed of all the cave’s details. In the afternoon we did the Dark Cave tour with Victor. My wife and I are in our late 50s (ok, nearly 60) and as this is quite adventurous, Victor really looked after us. Victor was also very funny, extremely knowledgeable and was a park cave explorer for over 15 years. We had an absolutely brilliant time on the Dark Cave tour with Victor, and felt we were in very safe hands indeed. I can’t recommend Victor and Nick highly enough. The lunch provided was also absolutely delicious and the administrative arrangements and communication all worked perfectly.

Although it was raining (and a bit cold for us) we enjoyed the tour to the caves! The views were amazing and in the dark cave it was funny. Also the food was really good + the guides were so nice! 😊

We had the best time on this tour. Both tour guides, Nick & Hannah were so friendly, very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. Paradise cave was breathtaking, well worth the visit and had a good path the whole way. The dark cave was our favourite, with the zip line into the cave and mud bath, however we would highly recommend wearing pool shoes as the ground was quite rough underfoot. Lunch at the dark cave restaurant was also fantastic, served on giant banana leaves.Such a great tour, 100% would recommend!

Despite the rain (wear a raincoat if possible) it was an amazing day, beautiful place, and a wonderful tour guide Nic!

We had Nick as our tour guide. He spoke a very good English He was happy to answer questions about the caves as well as Vietnam in general. The pick-up, the tours in the 2 caves, lunch and the return journey were well organized. We can definitely recommend the tour.

We had a fantastic day with our guide Sy. The caves are very beautiful and very different from each other. Sy knows a lot about the caves and the history of this area. Also from his own experience, which results in very beautiful stories. We were very impressed by the caves and the stories about this area.

We had the most amazing day on the Paradise and Dark Cave Tour. Nick (our tour guide) was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and extremely friendly. We can’t say enough good things about this tour and would thoroughly recommend it!

The tour was an amazing day out. The Paradise caves were spectacular and the Dark cave experience was amazing. Nick our guide was excellent. His English was very good and he was full of interesting facts. The food at lunch time was good and the zip wire fun. We finished the day off swimming in the river. Great vale for the money. I would highly recommend this tour!

We had a great day visiting Paradise cave and Dark cave.The company picked us up from our hotel and provided a delicious lunch.Our tour guide Nick was very friendly and explained lots of information interesting about the caves.Experiencing the a Paradise cave surreal and the Dark cave was a real adventure.

It was a lovely tour. Our gid, Nick, gave us alot of information. His engels is very good. Paradise cave is very beutiful. And dark cave was very different and muddy.

The caves are very impressive and the guide was really nice ! You have a nice lunch and everything was organized well. Nice day trip!

Very good experience, magnificent cellars and good Guide! I recommend! Don’t hesitate to stay in Dong Hoi, I stayed at Nam Long Hotel for a good Award about 1.5 hours from the cellars. I booked the Pension Tour and a shuttle picked me up directly on the D-Day, simplicity and quality.
