Charlottetown Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

We dropped anchor off **Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island**, and tendered into port. Two other cruise ships were docked at the pier, and I have no idea how it was decided that we would tender while the other two ships got the coveted dock space. Nevertheless, the tendering process went smoothly and efficiently.It was a cold but sunny day, and **George** was our guide for the two-hour **Cruises Only “Charming Charlottetown Walk.”** George had recently graduated from the local university and told us he would be staying in Charlottetown over the coming winter doing work in “computing.”Originally from Nigeria, George was exceptionally easy to understand, projected his voice well, and was full of information about Charlottetown, its history, and the surrounding area. He kept a comfortable pace and did an excellent job leading our group.Although advertised as a two-hour walking tour, we hadn't given much thought to exactly how much walking that would involve. We didn't count our steps—but our various electronic devices did. By the end, they reported approximately **9,000 steps**, so be prepared for a fair amount of walking!Our tour ended at **COWS**, the well-known Prince Edward Island ice cream shop. We almost bought ice cream but decided we could get some back aboard the ship. We did, however, buy our granddaughter a T-shirt emblazoned with **“MooMooLemon”** on the front. We think she'll love it—but with granddaughters, who can be sure?George was personable, knowledgeable, and an excellent guide. The walking tour was an enjoyable way to see Charlottetown up close, and we would readily recommend it to other visitors—just wear comfortable walking shoes!**George and the Cruises Only excursion: 5 out of 5 stars.**

Rob was delightful. As a native of PEI he had history, local stories and lots of information. The trip was well planned with plenty of time at each stop. Enjoyed it very much

Carolyn was a fount of knowledge about PEI and Charlottetown history which her family has been a part of for generations. She really made the area come alive with the tales of the people who have been part of that history. The food was great and we even got a poem served with our oysters! It was the best way to start our stay on PEI.

It was a beautiful drive from the harbor to Green Gables. We had never read the book but enjoyed learning the history when we got to the venue. Got to save time to eat a Beavertail. Very nummy. The stop at the Jam store was ok. Every bus stops there so it is crowded.

Ken was our guide and we really enjoyed our time with him! He is a Charlottetown native and shared a lot of historical information as well personal family history from many generations of living on the island. I would highly recommend!

Stunning trip, we had the best day ever! Wonderful boat trip, love the sustainable elements. We were entertained beautifully from start to finish by Chad and Justin on board. Great hospitality and entertainment, with optional meal and drinks thrown in, if required. Wonderful VFM. Would happily do this again!

Excellent background on country and great informal tour guide with Ken! The food stops were delicious 😋 The blue mussels were the best I have ever had. Even had GF options.

The points of interest and narration were terrific. Some interesting facts we wouldn’t have known otherwise than just driving around ourselves. It’s good to be able to stop and get out and the audio picked right back up when we hit the next point of interest.

Fun town tour with interesting historical information and anecdotes shared by Frank, our tour guide! We especially enjoyed the bike riding around the point and on the bike trail.

Jamie was the best. He evinced a deep knowledge of PEI based on a lifetime of living and working there.

Ashkan was a perfect guide, polite, accommodating, flexible, talkative and we learned so much and saw the beauty of the north shore.

The bus driver/guide was absolutely awesome. Lived there all his life and gave us so much history about everything. Peggys Cove was amazing to see (but too many people there). Enjoyed it all

Terry gave us a fine tour of Prince Edward Island. As a resident for many years he was able to show us all of the wonderful items the island had to offer. It was a wonderful unhurried visit.
