We really enjoyed the guided tour by María Abreu
From the reviews I read, Cáceres must have a high number of excellent tour guides. We were incredibly lucky to be guided through the city of Cáceres by an extraordinary guide, María Abreu Márquez (from Spain free tours), who, as an art historian, shared with us her knowledge of history and art, but also her passion for the city, her family, and respect for traditions. The narrative thread included educational aspects of ecology, urban planning that is respectful of heritage and people, tolerance between cultures, and responsible and sustainable tourism, which is always good. There were also very appropriate allusions to the recent history of Cáceres that are worth remembering, in addition to architecture, art, customs, history, and its connections to the present... All of this in an enjoyable, dynamic way, with humor and friendliness, involving the visitors themselves in the explanations, including the children in the group, so that the time passed without us even noticing. María, I couldn't help but write a review of your excellent work, your love for the cultural and natural heritage of the city of Cáceres, and to thank you for having us spend a good time visiting your charming city and, in the process, learning about it.
