Boone Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

This Boone Scavenger Hunt was a blast. We mostly stayed in the downtown area and we absolutely laughed and were silly enjoying the moment, I’m so glad no one in our group was uptight, the leader texted us every step of the way, encouraged us and had helpful reminders. If you are in the area for a visit, do this the first day. It’s a 2 hr event or you can do longer. It’s like 29.00 a person so it was a little expensive for us but that’s because I paid the bill lol. But honestly I would do it again. You win points and can do this in other towns apparently. We won points but no one told us what for? I forgot to ask too, so my bad. They took suggestions and were very flexible, if the location ( like a jewelry store) was closed . We didn’t get to finish all of them, but we sure did a lot and we laughed so hard and other people laughed with us as they were watching us gather all of our photos for the scavenger hunt. I do highly suggest this especially if you’re new to the area or if you just need a date night, it’s fun and the people are really nice. It is virtual, all done by phone. We got ice-cream afterwards. Yup a good day. Cracker Jack Team!

Beautiful Belgian horses. Great ride and excellent overview of Moses Cone Park history as well as some nature info. Owner/driver friendly and very helpful. No worries. Good for all ages (children with adult).

My son and I took the adventure, we both found it to be very fun informative and educational about the historical significance of the buildings and properties that we visited. It was a great way to walk around the town. And be quite honest found it kind of hard especially for some reason the morse code. Kudos to you guys who developed this. So I recommend it to all for the money you couldn't beat it and it was really really fun.

Our guide was amazing. We had so much fun and enjoyed learning about the area. My son now wants to do this every time we come to Blowing Rock.

We surprised a sister on her (65th) birthday with a carriage ride and she said it was the best birthday ever! Chad is so awesome, knowledgeable, funny, patient, and his love for this beautiful property is contagious. He took all of the pics we asked him to, and even suggested a few more shots. The carriage was gorgeous, clean, comfortable. Chad had steps to make it easier to get in and out of the carriage, and our group of 6 older people had no trouble with that. Most of the ride is in the shade, and the trails are mellow with hardly any bumps. We were able to spend about 30 minutes looking around the mansion and stretch our legs. The mansion has a gift shop, so bring your wallet if you might like some souvenirs. Chad even suggested a GREAT restaurant after getting to know us for a couple hours, not far away (Dan'l Boone Inn in Boone) and he was right. That was the perfect ending to such a fun day! Absolutely recommend!!

I Boone walking is the best choice. We lost a half hour in search of a parking space in downtown Boone. It pays to read through the entire set of tasks before starting the Hunt. It will save you from retracing your steps in your search since you can visit [laces in any order.

Great for family fun was planned for a couples date but had to pivot last minute and bring the kids but it did not hinder our experience and sometimes the extra set of eyes are great helps and big smiles! The host/cheerleader lol MJ was a great help and when we requested the “phone a friend” she called immediately and was a great help! Only thing I would do differently is maybe contact them beforehand and get you starting info and get your bearings and a better understanding of what to do and where to go before starting, maybe they can do better on intro info or I could have done better on researching before starting!

We took a carriage ride while on a bachelorette trip in Blowing Rock. We had a great time with Chad - he was fun, insightful, and a great guide! Highly recommend while visiting the area!

We took a carriage ride with Chad while on a bachelorette weekend in Blowing Rock. He was awesome! Great personality, chock full of info and lots of fun. He genuinely cares about his horses and his passengers. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a scenic, fun, outdoor activity while in Blowing Rock!

Great relaxing ride very informational from the tour guide. Highly recommend if you have the time. Tour guide was excellent.

Wonderful experience! Chad our driver was very knowledgeable about the area. He was also very patient and accommodating. The carriage roads are absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend this tour!

Chad was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable about the property and kept us entertained the entire time. 2 hours went by in a flash. I would highly recommend this activity.
