Battambang Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

The tour was absolutely amazing just like our guide, Bun! ❤️ Bun is incredibly kind, passionate, and knowledgeable about his country and its history. He showed us around downtown Battambang and shared fascinating stories about the city, its history, and the statues we came across. It was truly interesting and gave us a much deeper understanding of Battambang.Then we headed into the countryside, which was absolutely beautiful 😻. Bun introduced us to the local culture, explained the history of the area, and even taught us about the plants and everyday life in Cambodia. It was such a fascinating and authentic experience.We also visited the Bamboo Train, which was an amazing experience and felt so authentic! We met wonderful local people and some adorable kids. ❤️We finished the day at Phnom Sampeau and the famous bat caves and wow… it was absolutely incredible! 😻 Watching thousands of bats fly out of the cave was truly unforgettable.Thank you so, so much, Bun! I’m incredibly grateful that our paths crossed during my travels. You are an amazing guide, and I especially want to thank you for your patience and kindness with my little son. It meant a lot to us. ❤️I 100% recommend Bun to anyone visiting Battambang. Fabulous trip. Started with a 3 hour bike ride visiting real local village life and off the beaten track. Afternoon in the tuk tuk visiting the bamboo train which was fun and the bat cave in the evening which was spectacular Our guide Reed was great, very friendly and very informative

We were picked up on time by Rith, a quiet, very pleasant and nice guide. Ridden by bike through beautiful landscapes and to the very impressive morning market. Rith explained us well and answered our questions. The tour is not to be missed!!! Rith don't look for:-)

Great trip with Bun (whose English is really good). He gave us a varied trip of culture, countryside and fun. We visited parts of Battambang we wouldn’t have otherwise seen. The bamboo train is def a fun thing to do (and may be closed soon apparently) plus the killing caves (harrowing but important to learn about) and witnessing 5million bats flying from their roosting cave are simply a must do.

It was a very nice tour and we had a really sweet guide: Rith! In the morning we went biking and we tasted a lot of Khmer food. (You will be so full at the end haha) We also got to know a bit more about Khmer culture! In the afternoon, after a short break, we got picked up by tuktuk. Rith drove is around the city and showed a lot of cool places like the bamboo train, Chili plants, temples and small bridges. At the end we went to the bath cave and killing cave and watched the baths fly out, it was really cool. Overall super Great experience and amazing local guide. Would definitly recommend!

This was a wonderful whole day tour with our amazing tour guide Bun Nang. First we started with a bike tour through Battambang neighborhood, including local market where Bun Nang showed us what local people sell, then into blacksmith workshop, banana shop, spring rolls workshop where we learned how rice wrappers are made, bamboo sticky rice store, rice fields in the local village, then by tuk tuk into suspension bridge, bamboo train and finally killing cave and bat cave where hundreds of thousands of bats fly out at dusk. I highly recommend it for anyone that likes to explore by biking.

Fantastic afternoon. The bamboo railway was exhilarating, The Killing Caves were educational and so peaceful when you consider their past. And the Bat Cave was phenomenal.

Bun was an excellent host, prompt pick up and interesting bits of information throughout the day. He has cold water for us and was happy to answer any questions.Heads up that there is also a "big train" that uses the bamboo track which we didnt realise. We did have to wait about 20mins at the end of the track for that to pass (afternoon trip time). During that time there are a few families selling souvenirs, food and drinks.

What a great day! It is quite long though so keep that in mind, sitting in a tuktuk for 7 hours. Loved the bat caves and the bamboo train, as well as just seeing more of the country side.

We had a great day out with Bun while in Battambang. We did the afternoon tour on a rainy day. Bun was an incredibly informative guide with lots of local insight and commentary on daily life in Cambodia. He was flexible and mindful of our needs, taking us to buy rain ponchos when it really came down. He also gave us an excellent restaurant recommendation for dinner and dropped us there at the end of the trip. The bamboo train was a real highlight. Bun is worth every penny, a kind and experienced guide.

The tour guide gave a lot of interesting information about both the history and the current situation in Battambang and Cambodia in general. A good half-day trip to the must-see facilities in Battambang.

Our guide was Bun and he gave us a great mix of country life, commentary on the lives of Cambodians and some incredible sights. We won’t forget the bamboo train (and having to jump off and dismantle it while the big train came by) or the sight of millions of bats leaving a cave at dusk to have a night hunting bugs. Really special experience and great value.
