To say this was a 5 star vacation is an understatement, it was over the top fabulous! We visited Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Plitvice, Rovinj and Zagreb.Aleksandar’s attention to detail, historical knowledge and ability to help us experience the beauty of Croatia through traditional foods, customs, historical and natural wonders was everything you would want in a vacation.The hotels had welcoming and accommodating staff with breathtaking views.We loved the small group guided tours to introduce us to each unique place. The guides Ana, Dino, Lucha, Nikola, Goran and Marko enchanted us with their storytelling.The excursions were incredible from intimate family home cooking classes/ meals, wineries, private island seafood experience, boating and swimming in the Adriatic Sea, truffle hunting, olive oil tasting and hiking in the #1 National Park in Europe.We had no idea how spectacular this trip would be!!!!

Looking for the best tour company for Croatia
We recently returned home after a magnificent week visiting Croatia. We were a family of four adults wishing to be introduced to the country. I had studied many tour companies and reviewed their itineraries and then checked comments about them on Cool Destinations and other sites before choosing Zico Tours. I am so glad that I did! The planning phase via email was very pleasant as Anna Maria responded promptly and efficiently as she learned what we wished to see and do and also what we preferred to miss. It was obvious that we could not possibly see everything Croatia has to offer in such a limited time we had available. She quickly created an amazing itinerary and selected terrific hotels that were each individually unique and yet varied but clean, quiet, and located perfectly. Zico picked us up from the airport and brought us directly to our hotel and at the end took us back to the airport. We arrived on different dates, yet they assisted everyone without a question or extra charge. Most importantly, each day we had the same personal guide, Igor, who was not only knowledgeable about Croatian history, but educated us about its culture and people. His manner was pleasant and full of humor. We all felt comfortable and safe in his presence. In addition, he went out of his way to assist us without us asking. For example, the sole on my sneakers became separated while we were hiking in the Plitvice lakes. Igor, quietly, at the first opportunity, raced to purchase super glue which repaired my shoes. I could continue to praise him and the Zico organization for pages. But suffice it to say, this local small tour company watched over us throughout the trip, assuring us of a most wonderful experience. I have never had such kind, considerate and efficient service elsewhere and highly recommend them.

I've been meaning to write this review for a long time. In June 2024, Alex spent almost three weeks with us, driving and guiding us from Zagreb through Lake Bled in Slovenia to northern Croatia, along the coast, and through Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro to Albania. The planning was straightforward, and communication was very easy. Alex was interested in our preferences, and the entire trip was perfectly tailored to our wishes and superbly organized. In cities and at special sights, he additionally booked local guides for us. Afterward, he always followed up to make sure we were satisfied and if he could book these guides for future guests as well. Alex himself always went to great lengths to show us the most beautiful corners of his beloved country. His dedication and enthusiasm were contagious. At the same time, he was always discreet and never intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble for him. It was a true pleasure to have him as our guide; he made our trip unforgettable. We travel a lot and have had many good guides, but Alex is truly special. He absolutely couldn't have done it better, and we have so many wonderful memories. We can wholeheartedly recommend BLKN.

Me and a girlfriend took a 7 day tour with BLKN escapes. I wasn’t sure how we were going to manage the trip. Maybe rent a car or take public transit. We researched many options and fell upon BLKN escapes. At first I thought it sounded too good to be true because of the price and experiences being offered. But I took the chance and booked them. Prior to the trip Alex and I spoke on the phone so he could find out everything we hoped to see and do. He customized the tour to perfection. Our driver Mario picked us up at the airport and from that moment on all we had to worry about was enjoying the views and experiences. Not only was it absolutely stunning places to visit and see but everything we did was thought through and planned perfectly. The accommodations that were booked were all clean and beautiful and in beautiful locations. Mario was such a gentleman with so much in-site and knowledge about his country that he shared with us. It was obvious he has a passion for what he does. He was fun and chatty and took such good care of us. The places we visited were some of the most beautiful places I have ever had the privilege to see. The words “wow”were repeated throughout the entire week. The countries Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia are a must see. Without a doubt I would recommend BLKN escapes. They are a five star company.

I'd say a 4.5 rating. The company is GREAT to work with. We designed a trip with everything I wanted to see and do. I didn't realize how rushed it would be (that's on me) and how much driving was involved . Did a 12 day trip that went to Slovenia, all over Croatia, and Mostar. Saw it all!! Wow. Our guide was super responsible, safe driver, very helpful and knowledgeable. He did talk a LOT with a lot of details about history. I couldn't take that much info in and at times it was overwhelming and too much. Everyone I worked with was fantastic with communication. They are all honest and allowed us flexibility as needed. It's really great to work with a Croatian company.

A Lifetime Experience in the Balkans
We had a fantastic private tour of the Balkans, and every detail was impeccably planned and handled from start to finish exceeding our expectation.Our tour guides (in particular, Alex, Mario and Nicolas) were top notch in that they were knowledgeable the places that they showed us. They didn't just recite dates and facts, but told us captivating stories (at times their own personal stories) that brought the complex history of the cities to life. Their passion for their homeland was infectious and their friendliness made us feel like we were exploring with an old friend.The overall transport and other arrangements made were of excellent standard. The vehicles used were new, modern and comfortable. Furthermore, our guides provided us with many excellent local restaurant recommendations, and we enjoyed authentic, delicious meals we never would have found on our own.Not to mention that the Balkans are incredibly picturesque, from the stunning Adriatic coastline to the dramatic mountain passes, waterfalls and charming old towns. We have had bad experiences with other online companies so we were a little hesitant to book with another online company. But after more than 90 emails, we can definitely say Zico Tours exceeded our expectations. The communication was fantastic, timely, clear, and professional.We began our tour after visiting Budapest for the Formula One race - another city to definitely visit (we did that on our own). Croatia and Slovenia stole our hearts. The people, the scenery, and the places we visited were amazing.Our private driver/guide was fantastic. He ensured we were always taken care of and gave us a lot of information about the areas we visited and the history of Croatia. The private local guides in each city we went to were also great and made our experience that much better.Our tour took us through much of Croatia starting in Zagreb with 4 day stopover in Ljubljana and area, then continuing back to Croatia to Plitvice Lakes, Split, Orebic, and finally to Dubrovnik. The 4 and 5 star hotels Zico booked for us were excellent.Everything was well-organized, and the whole tour was smooth from start to finish.We definitely recommend Zico Tours! We can't thank you enough to Annamaria, who has been very patient to us. She carefully crafted the itinerary to match our expectation. She's also fast response and cater our needs. As people with weak passport, we need to apply schengen visa with quite strict requirements, we consulted with Annamaria and she gladly answered and provided solution. During our trip, Hrvoje was assigned to be our companion / tour guide, he was like a close friend to us. He took care of us during the trip and make sure we're enjoying the trip. This was a tour was truly amazing. We saw so many beautiful places and interesting things. Robert was our driver / tour guide. My husband and I have been on many tours through the years. He was the best one and made our vacation an amazing, enjoyable and stress free experience. Robert was very knowledgeable. He made restaurant recommendations that were perfect for us. Robert would make modifications to the days activities based on our abilities/needs/wants. Unfortunately Robert had to leave us due to a death in his family. We completely understood. We booked Click2Shuttle for Zagreb to Split transfer, and were offered to visit Plitvice lakes along the way. Had a great time in the park. Whole team was very helpful with their recommendation what to do in Split so we ended up booking two additional trips with them. Bozo was very responsive and easy to book with. Our driver Tiho was the star of the show. Very knowledgeable and funny. The car was a Mercedes van, very comfortable and clean.Thank you guys for a wonderful time.
