Top Milwaukee Fun and Games

My visiting cousin brought this as a fun, challenging, and shockingly intricate group activity! We toured the city finding clues. It was complex so you must approach with intelligence & persistence. It was beyond rewarding when we solved the puzzle! Loved it!

An outdoor escape room adventure??? What a concept! Ok, you checked the "cool idea" box, but what about the venue, and the game itself? The venue is Milwaukee's RiverWalk, which turned out to be a beautiful setting with a lot of neat history -- including a walk past the world-famous Safe House (google it) -- and a lot of historical plaques for those who like to read them. Really really fun -- this was an infinitely better venue than any "game room" we've ever visited. (We also caught a beautiful day - be sure to watch the forecast.)And the game? Really, really fun because it was extremely well thought out and well put together. For starters, it's entirely self-paced. There is no ticking clock, no pressure, which is often a downer in a lot of escape room adventures. Solve each riddle as slowly or as quickly as you wish; take all afternoon if you like. THAT was a big plus. The kit -- a box of clues and materials you're given to start the game -- was very well put together and is used throughout the game. There were, I think, six or seven different "stages" - moving from one location to another to solve the next stage. We found the course to be extremely challenging, but it was also clear that any experience level can solve it.How is it possible to have a high challenge level that any experience level can pass? Because the online component (you're going to need your smartphones!) was REALLY well done. Need a hint? Here you go -- but they're not giving it away. You might call the first one "hint light" for experts. Not enough? Ask for more. You take what you need, like bites at the apple, all the way up to "Ok, here's the answer...", but they're not handing it to you unless you ask for it.That, I think -- the way the online component is put together -- is the best part of an outstanding experience. If you want to be challenged, solving each riddle on your own, go for it. If you're breaking, starting to argue with each other or getting ready to throw your phone in the river, take a hint. Or two. We did, a bunch. If you're a first-time group and you're mystified by the complex and often maddening clue structure of a good "escape" experience, you're going to learn a lot, have fun, get the hang of it, and by the time you finish you'll still be successful even if you have to take a few mulligans to get there. "Ohhh, I get it. Arghh, how did we not see that? Oh, no way! That was just evil!" (If you've done escape rooms, you know what I mean.)If you're a large group, this is still an excellent experience. They limit you to 6 players in a group, and it turns out there's a good reason for that. We were more than 6 and we were not really keen on having to split up, but once we started the game we figured out you can play together with two groups. (Don't tell them I said that.) However, it was a VERY good thing they made us get two kits because there is a lot of important material in each box. Picture your large group standing at a stage trying to figure out an insidiously difficult clue with everyone trying to get their hands on the materials at the same time... Trust me, it would have been awful. Instead, we naturally separated into two groups, working together, occasionally competing, but the whole family was able to travel/sleuth together. This was a great experience, really well thought out and put together. Easily 5 stars.

It was fun to explore the city of Milwaukee

Super fun Scavenger Hunt in downtown Milwaukee! The hunt took us through: The Pfister, St. John’s Cathedral, Grohman Museum, Red Arrow Park, City Hall, Pabst Theater, Betty Brinn Children’s Musuem, and the Mileaukre Art Museum. It took 1 hr 45 minutes and covered 2.6 miles!

Super Fun and Adventurous Scavenger Hunt!! Easy to do and lots of fun ways to experience Lake Geneva. We had lots of smiles and laughs through our two hours. Would highly recommend!

This was our first time doing a scavenger hunt. We had a blast and it was a great team bonding experience. I would love to do it again.

It was so much fun! Once we realized that the hunt is what we make of it, we started improvising and doing so much better. We all had to download WhatsApp and create our group. The organizers sent us a file with a list of tasks we could complete to earn points. We then just randomly picked different ones and (dare I say) came up with our version of what could pass as a completed assignment. When we completed each mini-adventure, we took a picture or video and sent it to the organizers. They were very encouraging (and funny) and kept us going. We didn't need to (or want to) walk very far and found many things that could be done within a few blocks. Essentially, we were trying to get as many done as possible while having the most fun. There were no prizes (other than having a great time), and we didn't compete against anyone (so no pressure to do things quickly or perfectly). We had to be very "creative" to accomplish as many tasks as we did, which resulted in a ton of laughs. If you participate in this scavenger hunt, don't take it too seriously. Try to have a great time, and I'm sure you'll end up with a million or so points in the end, along with some great memories!

so fun to do on a bachelorette party. we took turns being the queen and leading our subjects through the city. the bride is still talking about it

I’ve lived in OshKosh for 5 years but don’t get out much so this seems like a fun way to get to know the city a little better. I was right, we had an absolute blast and got to support some local businesses along the way! If you’re a go-go-go person, 2 hrs is enough time, but if you are looking for more of a exploring experience, 4-5 hours is a better timeframe or even a day. I will definitely do this again!

My daughter and I had an absolute blast on this scavenger hunt! Paul, our host, was simply amazing—he really pumped us up like a top-notch cheerleader! There were so many exhilarating challenges to tackle, and we were on a mission to see how many we could conquer in just two hours. We ended up having such a great time that we just kept going even after the official hunt ended! I’m so thrilled we decided to join in. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an adventure!

Plan for about 3 hrs and a lot of walking. Be sure to look high and low, and pay attention to your envelope cards. All-in-all, our family absolutely enjoyed the experience. You'll get to see history along the way. The Riverwalk itself is nice. We just felt it was overpriced, considering that the Riverwalk itself is free, and all your doing is using cards to solve a puzzle.

The Relic tour box was SO much fun! It guided us through Milwaukee’s iconic RiverWalk, ending at a pub. Highly recommended!

A great day to spend a few hours with family. I would rate it for families with older kids, it was quiet a bit of walking for younger kids.

Fun way to explore Milwaukee with friends. Would definitely recommend the scavenger hunt. Try it for fun

My friend and I (two middle-aged moms ☺️) did this scavenger hunt as part of a birthday weekend — we had SO much fun! The clues weren’t difficult but were just challenging enough to keep the fun going all the way through. We darted around town, laughed and enjoyed. And what a great way to see and learn about the city! Will definitely do another Alley Kat Adventure tour in another city.
