We had a great time on this tour! Everything was really well organised, and we learned a lot. The views were amazing, and seeing flamingos and crocodiles so close was definitely a highlight! Juan and Jorge were fantastic, friendly, helpful, and very attentive. We really enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend this tour!

This was an awesome experience! Loved having a private guide and driver, so cool to have everything set at our own pace. The guide and driver were incredible, they communicated clearly before the excursion, promptly answered any questions beforehand. They showed up on time, provided plenty of food and drinks for the entire trip. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about everything and overall, extremely pleasant. We felt safe with our driver at the wheel, expertly drove us to Chichen Itza, the Cenote and Izamal and back to our hotel. I highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience with Ricardo and Avi! At the ruins of Ek Balam, we were also fortunate to visit the tunnels, which are normally not open to visitors! Ricardo, our guide, is an incredibly knowledgeable young man with incredible kindness, as is the driver Avi! We truly felt pampered. The cenote is stunning! A truly magical place. The time in Valladolid was a bit too short, but this was due to us because we started the excursion at 9:30! I recommend the tour to those who want to relax while continuing to explore.

We had a wonderful time on this tour with our fantastic tour guide, Riccardo and driver Abe.We were picked up from our hotel by both of them, and they were very friendly and ensured we were comfortable throughout the day. We were able to have some very interesting and enjoyable conversations throughout the drive to Chichen Itza.Riccardo, was very knowledgeable and gave us great insight into the history of this impressive site. He was able to bring to life the impressive buildings and pyramids, through sharing information about historical Mayan culture and some mythology.We were able to go at a relaxed pace and take pictures, with Riccardo showing us the best spots of this site.After the Chichen Itza we were taken to the Cenote, we had ample time to explore the Cenote and have a tasty lunch. The Cenote was very impressive with clear water and fish swimming around, it also had excellent facilities.Then it was time to head home. Riccardo and Abe were once again very accommodating and made us feel comfortable. We had a great conversation and plenty of laughs on the drive home.

Our guide Ricardo and our driver Abi were excellent. They were friendly and on time to start, and brought a cooler of beverages for us. When we got to Uxmal, Ricardo was extremely knowledgeable about the ruins, highlighting interesting aspects and explaining their meaning to us. He was also flexible, answered our questions, and kept us in the shady spots on a hot day. After Uxmal, we went to the Choco Story museum and small wildlife refuge on our own. The exhibits were informative and we were able to try traditional Mayan chocolate (cocoa with hot water and spices). Finally, the place they took us for lunch was quick and tasty. We would absolutely recommend this tour.

Carla our guide who took us to the beach club was amazing, so lovely and very communicative to any needs. She took time to explain so many things. She made us feel very welcomed. I recommend this trip if you want a quiet beach experience. We later on went to Progresso beach but was much more alive if you want more of this experience. Thank you to Carla for making our day so perfect.

What an amazing way to see the real Merida/Progreso area: escape the cruise machine! It’s also as comfortable or better than a cruise line package & 1/2 the cost.Alejandro was AMAZING. Booked last minute and didn’t know exactly what to expect. We were picked up at the door of our B&B in Merida by an awesome guide who conveyed us to the port, and we took a short ride over to the island on a boat with the very nice concessions ladies who were going to set up shop. Once there, there is nothing to do but relax! Wooden swings and palapas, birds and fish so close you can almost touch them - an unspoiled paradise. Progreso is nice, but the islands are definitely the highlight of the trip.

Great van company to rent van, driver and guide from.
I had booked driver for the van (from Merida Elite) and an English speaking guide named Ricardo. Since my pick up locations for the two days were different from but not at all far apart, they got the pick up locations mixed up. We struggled to get ahold of someone who spoke English to find out where the van was, since we were all in one hotel (agreed upon location for the first day) while the van was at the second day's location. Fortunately where we were waiting there was someone who spoke English and he managed to get a hold of our guide Ricardo and explained the mix up. From when they drove to where we were waiting and picked us up, the rest of the day went so well for us that we insisted that we have the same driver and guide for the next day as well. A bunch of vegetarians who spoke no Spanish found it extremely helpful to have Ricardo explain at restaurants what we were looking for and he found just the right places to for us to eat at. We were so pleased that we booked a van to take us to the airport a few days later when were ready to leave. Another company that we had booked to ride from the airport to our hotel when we landed in Merida did not show up. We could not access the email from Cool Destinations notifying us of that till we somehow got to the hotel and checked our email. After that experience, we decided to go with Merida Elite for our transport back to the airport. I think we won't forget Ricardo and our driver and I doubt Ricardo will forget us after two days of getting familiar with each other.

We had the BEST experience! Our guide was an archeologist named Adam, and our driver was a very nice young man named Jose. They were fabulous! I can’t say enough about Adam and how funny and informative he was. We felt safe and cared for the entire time we were off this ship. We booked this excursion through Carnival. Our tickets were waiting for us at our cabin door. We got off the ship and wet to the assigned number on the pier. We had to wait a short amount of time for the rest of the people who booked to arrive, then we got on an air conditioned bus and had about an hours drive to the ruins. Adam told, and showed us several interesting facts and landmarks, answered everyone’s questions, no matter how silly, with confidence, humor, and interest. We spent about an hour at the ruins and were free to explore, and bother Adam with our questions. After the ruins we went to a restaurant and had lunch (food not included, but it cost us $12 (American) for lunch for two, and drinks were included). We walked the beach after lunch, and walked through progreso, we had a fantastic time! Bring sunblock and bug spray! Highly recommend!
