The day was **amazing, magical, beautiful, and full of memorable moments**.Having worked in the hospitality and tourism industry for many years, I pay particular attention to service standards, guest engagement, presentation, teamwork, and the overall guest experience. I can honestly say that the crew on this particular cruise were absolutely fantastic.I would like to personally acknowledge the following team members:**Wise, Julius, Qory, Talei, Amelia, Mere, Joseva, Captain Mari, John Biu, and Bale.**Every one of them contributed to making the day special. Their friendliness, professionalism, teamwork, entertainment, and willingness to engage with guests were clearly noticeable throughout the cruise.### 🌟 Special Recognition to BaleA very special mention must go to **Bale**, who was one of the highlights of the day. WOW!She was exceptionally well presented, precise, attentive to detail, friendly, energetic, and always had a beautiful smile. She had a wonderful way of interacting with guests and creating a positive atmosphere. Her ability to entertain while maintaining professionalism was outstanding.Bale genuinely helped make everyone's day amazing, and I believe she is a wonderful asset to the Captain Cook Cruises team.### 🌊 Recognition for the Marine BiologistI would also like to recognise the **Marine Biologist**, who was absolutely amazing.She was calm, knowledgeable, professional, and very detailed when explaining the marine environment and activities. It was very clear to me that she is extremely hardworking and passionate about her role.Her job is challenging, particularly when she is required to continuously enter the water even when conditions are unpleasant. That level of commitment should not go unnoticed. I strongly believe the company should value and recognise the contribution she makes.Her knowledge and experience have certainly added another dimension to the Captain Cook Cruises experience. Having worked in many areas of hospitality and tourism myself, I was particularly impressed by her attitude, dedication, and professionalism.### 🎶 Activities and EntertainmentThe activities were another major highlight of the cruise, and the **singing and entertainment were especially enjoyable**. The crew created a wonderful atmosphere and kept guests engaged throughout the day.This is what hospitality is all about — creating experiences that people remember long after they leave.### 🍽️ A Small Suggestion – Breakfast ServiceI would also like to provide one small operational suggestion that may help improve the guest experience and housekeeping efficiency.During breakfast, I noticed that **serviettes were being used in a way that allowed crumbs to fall onto the carpet/rug**. Perhaps the use of **small paper plates or suitable breakfast plates** could be considered. This would provide guests with a better surface for their food while also reducing crumbs falling onto the carpet and potentially creating additional cleaning work for the team.It is only a small observation, but sometimes small operational changes can make a significant difference.### ⚠️ Important OHS & Guest Safety ObservationI would also like to raise an important safety observation regarding **guest disembarkation and boarding**.On the day of our cruise, the sea was quite windy and the conditions were relatively rough. I observed that during disembarkation, a ramp was not being used and staff were physically supporting guests as they boarded and disembarked.Although the staff were doing their very best to assist and protect the guests, I felt that this method could potentially present a safety risk, particularly when the boat is moving or rocking due to sea conditions.If a guest were to take the wrong step or lose their balance while the vessel was moving, it could potentially result in an accident, even with staff providing assistance.From an **Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) perspective**, I believe this is something that should be reviewed as soon as possible. My intention in providing this feedback is not to criticise the crew — quite the opposite. The staff were doing an excellent job under the circumstances.I am raising this observation because **guest safety and staff safety must always come first**. If there is a safer boarding and disembarkation procedure, such as the appropriate use of a ramp or another approved system depending on sea conditions, I believe this should be implemented and consistently followed.This would help prevent potential accidents in the future and also provide additional protection for both **Captain Cook Cruises and its guests**.### 🌺 Overall ExperienceOverall, this was an **absolutely fantastic cruise**, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.The crew were the biggest highlight for me. the trip was really great, although the staff on the island were confused who we booked through, it was worth the money!! everything was already organised and didn’t have to book things like the snorkelling trip or accommodation which was great!

Beautiful day tour to Tivua Island, and enchanting Sunset cruise to end a perfect day! Kudos to the staff at Captain Cook cruises for making this so special!

It was a beautiful trip and we had a wonderful time at the Barefoot Kuata Resort. The staff were so welcoming and gave is plenty of entertainment. We got to the island at 10.45 not knowing that both guided snorkelling sesssions for that day started at 8am and 11am. We were welcomed by staff and shown a video about the bull shark diving. So we missed the guided snorkelling for that day but told we could do it at 8am the next day. We were given two different dorm rooms and told there was no room to be put together, so we paid 278 FJD to be upgraded to a double garden room.The island is beautiful and there is some lovely walks you can do on it. The resort itself is gorgeous too. We had a night of heavy rain so not much activity but still had a lovely time.

A lovely day and evening. The snorkeling was good, tried paddle boarding. The island wasn't overcrowded and the crew were very entertaining, singing songs and dancing. The sunset cruise was perfect, the sunset was amazing as was the food and the evening entertainment.

Iva took excellent care of us. She made sure we had a private cabana and brought beverages, brought us to a lovely lunch and was a consummate hostess. We did the tivua day sail and lunch- not the sunset cruise.

I did the ultimate encounter overnight stay. And OMG it was the best part about my holiday. I was short on time, so didn’t have lots of time for beach hopping, hence my choice to do the Ultimate Encounter. See review for Barefoot Kuata. Loved this. But the actual reef shark encounter 10/10 We booked in for a time that suited, I chose 9am on the Friday morning. We met at the dive shop, and got sorted for fins and snorkels, then went to the boat, about 20mins on the boat and we arrived at our location. I tend to get sea sick, but this was absolutely fine, no unnecessary shark feeding. The water was absolutely crystal clear. There was thousands of little fish. And about 6-8 reef sharks for our snorkel. They were so placid and just swam in and around us. It was mind blowing. I just used my phone with a waterproof case, it was perfect. As only about 1mtr deep. Everything on my Ultimate Encounter went smoothly from the transfer to and from the hotel. They even went above and beyond to drop me to another hotel on return. Incredible value for money.

We did the combo: day cruise to the island, sunset cruise. We left Port Denarau when the tide was starting to go out. We took a launch out to the boat. Footing was precarious trying to get from the launch to the larger boat. By the time we got to the island the tide was already quite far out. To get to even waist deep water was quite a distance from shore, over the boulders under the water. The footing was very unsafe. We both fell in the water, onto the boulders, while navigating to the higher water. We finally gave up and just sat on the chairs in the shade. We never got to snorkel after we brought all our snorkel equipment from the US to Fiji in our suitcases. The tour had lunch prepared for us and it was good. When leaving the island, we had to walk about 15 minutes to the other side of the island, due to low tide, with all our gear, to get to the launch. Walking to the launch we were in near waist deep water.Once we got back to Port Denarau we got off the boat. We waited on the pier for about 15 minutes for the dinner cruise to board. Once on board the dinner was good, as was the entertainment. That was the only saving grace of this part of the excursion.Overall, the experience was unacceptable. This seems like somewhat haphazard organization and execution for a company that has supposedly been doing this for years.

First I’ll give the negative part of the review. The sail boat for the day cruise was pretty much a rust bucket in need of some renovation. It definitely did not match the photos in the advertisements. On the positive side, the crew was great. They were extremely nice, helpful, and engaging. The lunch on the island was pretty good and it was nice to have an open bar. The beach experience on the island was just ok. We ended up having really windy weather so we really couldn’t enjoy much of the activities (not that was the fault of the crew).

We did the day trip but not the sunset dinner. Start to the day 40% chance of rain and we got the whole 40% in an hour and a half. On the way it stopped how sad. Fijian hospitality was again at its best. The captain Cook staff were outstanding. They found out that we were honeymooners, serenaded us for 2 songs, gave us a complimentary cabana at the island. Got wet for the first time in a while( went scuba diving, thanks Joe) , while my partner snorkelled. Lunch was good, tasty, good variety and substantial. Did glass bottom boat after lunch. Haili( studying marine biology) gave an informative and easy to understand explanation. My only comment is the glass bottom boat needed a serious clean and service. The crew entertained us there and back, all being in full voice. What a great day. Many thanks John and Chris from Brisbane.

What a wonderful and gracious crew. They truly seem to be enjoying themselves. We had a great day. I did an introductory scuba course and the instructor was excellent. What a great time.

An amazing day out to Tivua Island, the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. BBQ lunch was delicious with a variety of drinks available. Do recommend to split up the tours on seperate days as it ends up being a very long day otherwise.

This was such a great experience. The food and entertainment was awesome. The team split pur island trip and sunset dinner which was hreat as they kept the price the same. Ideal as a big day otherwise. Mateo and Sherry outstanding along with the rest of the crews.

My husband and I had our first trip to Fiji and started off with this day cruise and opted to do the sunset dinner cruise the second night. The day cruise to Tivua island was 10/10 and we loved every minute of it. The boat ride over was fun and comfortable and the crew were happy, friendly and welcoming. It took nearly an hour and they said it would only take scores 20 minutes so I guess Fijian time is a thing. We snorkeled, enjoyed the open bar and bbq lunch with lots of food and fresh salad. We upgraded to a cabana but I wouldn’t do so again as there is plenty of chairs and undercover shade. One staff member was up selling for the dinner cruise and we regrettably agreed to the romance package for $129fj which would give us a bottle of champagne, 2 sarongs and a table in the captains lounge…….. do not do this!!!!! We were forgotten about until the last minute before food service before they asked us to move upstairs to the captains lounge, however because they didn’t have enough tables downstairs, they moved other guests up into the lounge who hasn’t even paid for the package. All the entertainer was downstairs so we missed out on that, and we didn’t even get priority with the food and just joined the queue. The captain didn’t even come to say hello. We would of enjoyed it more if we hadn’t upgraded.

Excellent island, Wise and Sala took care of us as though we were VIP. Very professional and very polite.
