We lived the cruise and got it included through our Interrail pass so a definite bargain - the scenery was stunning and we loved our stop at Brienzersee for a wander and some ice cream

Take hot and cold weather gear as it can be fickle. (Note: The meeting point at Interlaken West is the train station as one goes down steps and walks to the docking point - this is confusing at first so one needs to allow enough time for this).

Breathtaking views! Round trip is 3 hours so bare that in mind! 4 stops along the way which you can get on and off but boats are every hour to each stop. Recommend sitting at the back of the boat and front of the boat you have to stand to see the views even if you have a seat.

This is a wonderful way to see Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. Zero stress and you can hop o and hop off anytime. The water is glacier green and pure, and the scenery is pristine, with the mountains in the background. This is the perfect activity to do with the family, no matter the ages.I highly recommend this family Activity

A beautiful lake trip that enables you to get at any stop to see and then go back to the next boat. The lake is excellent and very calm with no other boats.

The water is beautiful, the mountains are majestic and the guides are fantastic. They stop and play a trumpet to be able to hear at the echo spot. We enjoyed a lunch there and headed back.

Follow sign boards from Interlaken OST train Station towards lake cruise. If u have a day pass from Swiss Train SBB the boat cruise is included. Means free 3hours trip back to Interlaken OST train station. During cruise u may have food. The sights r Awesome 👏 . beauty n nature at its peak. Blue water lake with few stops and sight seeing.

The cruise is heavenly and the boat is more like a 5-star yacht -it's superb! Warning! 1. The cruise ends miles away from where it begins - so make sure you have transportation at the end point - I was unaware of this, took the road back and got stuck in traffic for 2 hours! 2. Luckily the ticket I booked on Cool Destinations was by default for the first class (upper) deck - but I'm not sure anything was mentioned as to choices of decks when I did the booking - the yacht has 3 different decks and upper deck access is only fore those booked for first class

Interlaken sits on the intersection of two lakes. We had planned to make a circular trip on Lake Thun, but found that at the time of travelling (early May) this was not possible as we could sail to Thun but would have to return by bus or rail. Instead we made the trip on Lake Brienz. Nice boat and super scenery. Highly recommended - but do check those timetables!!!

We spent all day cruising from Interlaken to Thun and then Thun to the last stop at Beatenbucht. We were quite confused about the timetable and we were surprised that we did not get taken back to Interlaken. Didn’t really matter as we had bus passes and we were able to catch the bus back but we were surprised. Staff were very nice on the boat though and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Day was cloudy and there were no views of the mountains but it was still a great day that we would recommend. Could you just make the time table a bit easier to follow?

A great day of sightseeing the wonderful and green countryside, the amazing waterfalls and the glacier water of the lakes was beautiful everywhere we turned. Stopping at the towns, eating wonderful foods and walking around was peaceful and engaging. A day well spent!

If you are planning on doing a round trip from Interlaken to Thun, it is cheaper to get the Day Pass than to buy a round trip ticket. Several smooth, relaxing hours each way. Plenty of time to walk around Thun and see the castle before heading back. Lots of scenic views along the way.

Heaven in earth.. this trip was a dream actually , the weather plus the water's colour .. I'd like to thank the crew and the administration for appointing a place for kids so they can play and spend some time

The BLS cruise on Lake Brienz was good but it is not meant for young people. The boat was nice and the crew helpful. Young people will find it boring though. There are multiple stops and the most famous of them is Geissbach See where the Geissbach falls are located. We took the return trip from Interlaken OST to Brienz. It costed us 54 CHF and if no stops are taken it takes a little more than two and a half hours. The views and landscapes are beautiful and if you want to spend 3 hrs in Interlaken relaxing, this is the perfect option for you. Soak in the sun, have food and drinks and enjoy the view.

We would recommend a trip on the BLS boats any day, but the paddle steamers Blumlisalp and Lotschberg - operating on Lake Thun and Lake Brienz respectively - are really something special.The day we went from Thun to Interlaken on the Blumlisalp was cloudy, raining and very cold - and any high mountain walking was out of the question because of snowy conditions - so this was an ideal activity to stay cosy and dry unless we particularly wished to venture out on deck. We had drinks in the little bar near the prow and enjoyed watching the engines and the paddles and looking at the interesting old black and white photos in the side cabins. Don't miss the beautiful Damensalon near the 2nd class restaurant. The ship was built in 1906 and was restored about 25 years ago after she'd been allowed to get into poor condition; now she is really "shipshape and Bristol fashion" (as we would say in the UK), and can travel at quite a rate of knots. The journey took about 2 hours and 10 minutes.On a fine day later in the week we took the Lotschberg from Brienz to Interlaken - a shorter trip of just over an hour - and this time could sit on the deck benches, although the ship was quite crowded. This was also very enjoyable. One of the nicest things about both trips was to see the admiring glances from people on the shore and other boats! The Lotschberg is slightly younger, built in 1914, but also in lovely condition.Obviously, as this is Switzerland, the boat trips arrive at their destinations just in time to catch a train or bus somewhere else, so there is no hanging about for hours if you are using public transport.Another bonus point for us was that, as we had a Swiss Travel Pass, we didn't have to pay anything else for these cruises, as the pass allows free travel on boats.Many thanks to the steamer staff who made our trips so enjoyable!

Whilst in Interlaken took this trip one afternoon on a lovely sunny and calm day. Fantastic views. Comfortable ship. Approximately two hours from Interlaken to Thun. Approximately half a dozen stops at towns around the lake edge. Caught the train at Thun station. Boarding area for the ship is through and underneath Interlaken West station. As was part of a Great Rail Journey I do not know the cost.
