Our guide Cora was very knowledgeable about the area. Nice clean shuttle. Made it back in plenty of time to walk around the cruise area.

Had a great time seeing the bears, totems, salmon river, bald eagles (imagine that in Alaska, ha!), and other spots/wildlife. Highly recommended!

Olga was the perfect guide. She tailored our hike to the abilities and requests of our group of four. She picked us up at the port and drove us to a great trail. It was full of waterfalls, streams, lakes, trees and gorgeous views. She supplied snacks, water and hiking poles. Olga was extremely knowledgeable about the hiking area, Sitka and Alaska in general.

I don't think I could say enough positive things about Tide Rips Adventures. From accommodating our delayed arrival to providing us with great sight seeing tips around Sikta and even a ride back to our ship, Ranier was super friendly and went above and beyond to help us. The bikes were in great condition and comfortable to ride. I wouldn't hesitate to use Tide Rips again or recommend them to others, in fact we already did.

This was one of the best experiences of my life! That sentiment is shared by my husband and friend that were with me. Rick, the owner and guide was extremely knowledgeable and took extra care to make sure our tour exceeded our expectations. We saw so many whales, sea otters and seals! Our small group tour was great. Suzan had loads of interesting local knowledge aswell as a genuine passion for the environment and local wildlife.

We really enjoyed the Jeep rental. It allowed us to explore at our own pace and to see things we otherwise would not have seen. Picking it up was quick and easy, and turning it back in was a breeze. We were able to visit Fortress of the Bear after the rest of the cruise crowds left. We did some off roading where were able to watch salmon making their way upstream in small streams to spawn. I would highly recommend.

If you want to leave Sitka with an authentic souvenir, this is the excursion for you. You actually put the finishing touches on an animal that represents Alaska. You use a grinder and a blowtorch. Trust me that was a first for me. It was great fun.

Grace, our tour guide at Fortress of the Bear, was fabulous. She gave us a great insight into why the bears are there and shared lots of interesting information about their care and rehabilitation.The trip through the National Park and the visit to the totem poles were excellent. Grace’s clear and informative explanation of the salmon run really added to the experience. She was knowledgeable, friendly and made the whole tour very enjoyable.

The pilot was great he took us over mountains , showed us many lakes and pointed out many mountain goats, beautiful rivers and and the volcano Mount Edgecumbe. He took us out over the bay where we were able to see whales just a wonderful experience. We definitely recommend.
