Chinon Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

This is a lovely family owned business. I first found them in 2015, they were in the early stages of revitalizing the vines. We did a very quick tour and wine tasting. This year, We did the picnic in the vines which included a tour, a wine tasting and an amazing picnic with local and home made foods. We could stay as long as we wanted. We did! We purchased some wine after lunch. I can't believe how much work has been done by this very small team. It is inspiring to see the dedication and passion!

Sebastian and his wife were amazing hosts. Wonderful informative tour, fantastic wine 🍷 and gourmet picnic lunch. Well worth the visit and highly recommended it. Of all the wine tours I have experienced around the world this stands out as unique and informative.

We had a brilliant time at the Chateau with Sébastien, stunning surroundings. Amazing that the house and lands have been in the same family since 1600’s! Wines were lovely, I came away with 6 bottles, good value.

Great experience. Keith and Linda were wonderful hosts. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended for any interested in wine or learning about wine in the region.

While visiting Chinon you must do this Bike Tour. The guide was very informative about the history of the region, wine making and the mid-evil town of Chinon. We had a blast doing several wine tastings and doing a tour of one of the vineyards followed by a nice picnic style lunch at the vineyard. We then proceeded into the mid-evil historic area near the 11th century fortress built by King James II . What beautiful countryside! I highly recommend this tour!!!

Super nice wine tasting! Host Sebastien was good in English and talked warmly and knowledgeably about his wine castle that has been in the family for generations. Good wines that we gladly bought with us home!

Really this tour deserves 6 stars. Keith and Linda are such lovely, knowledgeable tour guides. The wineries are great, and the lunch they provided was really tasty and served in a beautiful setting. They were fantastic at adapting to our wine preferences and dietary requirements. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

Our bike tour and winery visits with Quintin made for a perfect day in Chinon. The bikes offered a fun and easy way to navigate this beautiful town. Prior to our visit, Quintin communicated frequently, thoughtfully, and clearly via text. Upon arrival, he met us with a warm and friendly welcome; offered some basic bike instructions (helpful for the two non-bikers in our group); and reviewed how our ride would unfold. Very knowledgeable about the area, its rich history, and the winemaking, Quintin was an entertaining and interesting guide. He came prepared with a tasty lunch that took into consideration dietary requests. We visited two organic wineries, enjoying warm welcomes, full tours, wonderful tastings, and water refills (it was a hot day) at both. Quintin captured fun photos of our group in action, which was very thoughtful. We highly recommend this tour.

Finally finding it was good as the sat nav had us going round in circles, there had been a mix up on the booking but they stopped what they were doing and took us for a personal tour, history and wine making processes, finally the tasting and explanations. lovely few hours and brought some home

A great way to spend an afternoon in the Loire Valley. Very interesting history of the chateau and its lineage of owners. We gained a new appreciation of how fickle the business of wine producing can be with ever-changing climate conditions. We tasted a number of the family wines which each had a distinct character and all very nice. The picnic lunch was delicious with a delicious assortment of cheese, pates, and bread. The hosts, DArcy and Sebastian, were extremely warm and friendly.

Very interesting visit. Owner passionate about his estate and his vineyard. Picnic with high-quality products. We recommend it.

My husband and I spent a wonderful day with Keith and Linda exploring wineries in the Loire. They have a deep knowledge of the local wines (well, all wines!) and introduced us to some fantastic wineries and wonderful people. They've built relationships with winemakers in the region over decades and it was a pleasure to meet the winemakers themselves as part of the tour.The picnic lunch they provided was DELICIOUS - fresh and local cuisine, and of course some wine!We've done many, many wine tours and this was right at the top in terms of our guides' depth of expertise and connections with small, local producers. Highly recommended.

We were received by Sebastian, the owner. The explanations about the history of the castle are very interesting. The visit to the vineyards and the cellar allow a good understanding of the vinification process. The whole thing ends with a tasting with comments and comparison between everything we saw. I recommend the epicurean tour.

We did not know what to expect when we booked this wine tasting event and boy were we impressed! Sebastian, the owner of the Chateau and vineyard was so personable and very laidback. You could feel a sense of pride he had for his family chateau and the generations of wine making. The wine was unforgettable. I highly recommend this excursion.

Keith and Linda arranged a tour for my wife and I visiting some amazing vineyards that we could not have hoped to find ourselves. Their relaxed affable nature and deep knowledge of the region and its wines combined to deliver a fantastic day which was the highlight of our stay in Tours... and their picnic was the best meal, of a stay which had some excellent food.
