Alcobaca Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

This was by far one of the greatest experience we had. If you do the same without a guide and by your own it is impossible to reach so much in a single day and to learn all the things we had learned. I highly recommend the 1 day tour. Great value for the money!

Joao Pedro was our quide. He was very informative, gave us insights into the architecture and the history of the beginnings of Portugal..

Thank you Teresa and Hernâni for these fantastic moments we lived in Portugal. We loved staying at Retiro da avó Lídia and the tour in the Serras. You told us it's not the usual tour and we were unsure. Fortunately we accepted your suggestion. Hernâni is really passionated about the territory and he's so grateful to share its knowledge with us. You really surpased our spectations. The home-baked cake by Teresa was superb. See you soon :-)

What a fantastic morning we spent with Hernâni discovering wonderful landscapes combining scientific explanations for the mysteries of the limestone formations of the region. Ideal tour to make in Family to finish with a homemade cake and a tea (prepared by our dear host Teresa do Retiro of Grandfather Lídia) that welcomed us body and soul 😊

The guided visit with João Pedro was fantastic, well above our expectations. John has a very great knowledge and taste about Historia, and made us revive the whole history around the Battle Monastery, always with curiosities and very interesting facts. Worth 200%! And we are already thinking about a next visit to Tomar with SilverCoastTravelling. Thank you, it was a very enriching experience!

Excellent guide, made us a great visit to the area of port mós and beggar and even offered us tea and cake! The car was comfortable and even had some blankets for more comfort!

Convent of Christ at Torem was amazing. The whole day was amazing. We learned so much. João is an excellent guide who knows his history. Thank you João!

João was such an excellent guide. He acted as historian, language tutor, food advisor and geologist. What a lovely tour we had of Obidos and the oral history of Lisbon and surrounding areas. In Peniche we had the great pleasure of meeting up with Mark. Mark lives, breathes and adores the peninsula and was the perfect addition to our group. Well done, all! We had a great time. We would definitely select these folks again, given the opportunity.

Joâo was THE most fabulous tour guide ever. His knowledge of Sintra and Cascais was amazing. He was friendly and outgoing, and communicated with us so thoroughly before and during the tour. This was especially critical since the Lisbon area experienced record flooding while we were there. Highly recommend Joâo and Cool Destinations.

We booked 4 days of private tours with this company (including Lisbon, Porto, Fatima, Obidos , Cascais, Sintra and Nazare) at the suggestion of our travel agent. In the USA. Our guide from Windland was tremendous, and possessed encyclopedic knowledge, yet he was personable and fun. The pricing was reasonable for this type of service. My wife had a question about Christmas decorations and our guide researched the best places to go and we made a brief but great side trip that was remarkably fun. I believe our trip was made great by our choice of guide and their recommendations.

Antonio is a great tour guide and he knows about Portugal in depth. Without exaggeration he will analyze Portugal’s pros and cons, good or bad. Having Antonio around is a pleasure and a treasure. In this stretch of Silver Coast from Nazare to Ericeira , every turn has its surprising beauty and every rolling terrain dances in harmony with the ocean’s waves. Sunshine, history, youthful energy and mesmerizing beauty will filled your eyes and heart with charms and warmth that ultimately making the trip unforgettable. Photos will not do justice; you have to be here !

Our tour guide Marcio was lovely, very knowledgable and great company throughout the day. Lisbon is a fantastic city and we both found the tour very informative and well organised. Marcio took the time to explain everywhere we went and looked at, which added a lot to the overall experience. We also really loved that the tour was just the two of us which Marcio, which made it feel very personal to us. We certainly recommend this tour, if you only do one Lisbon tour, make sure you do this one, you will not regret it.

I did the one day tour in Lisbon and it was completely worth it. The guide, Márcio was really cool and I really enjoyed the city as I was in contact with its culture and people. It was a perfect day , I felt so happy. I advise you to take this tours, excellent relation price-quality.

It was an unforgettable moment. Hernãni is a passionate and exciting guide. He introduced us to the Serra de Aire Natural Park, its flora and fauna. A great moment of emotion when we saw the dinosaur prints. Hernãni is a very cultivated guide with whom we were able to exchange. And besides, he gave us herbal tea and delicious cakes prepared by Teresa.

We did a 4x4 EN ROUTE POR the Serra DE Aire and it was a fantastic experience. Hernâni was an exceptional guide: he explained everything with great clarity, knowledge and passion POR the area, which made each stop even more interesting.DE further, he was very attentive with us throughout the tour, making DE we were comfortable and enjoying the experience to the fullest. The EN 4x4 journey was exciting, with stunning scenery and corners that we would never have discovered POR ourselves. We recommend this excursion without hesitation, and especially to Hernâni. Thank POR such a special day

We had a fantastic day with Hernâni driving around in Parque Natural das Serras de Aire e Condeeiras and can recommend this tour to everyone. Hernâni is a very knowledgable guide. He knows a lot about the park, about the nature, biodiversity, geology and history of the park. He had a good feel of what we were interested in, which was basically all of the above. He brought us to some unique sites with dinosaur footprints and fossils, but also drove us to spectacular views. During some small hikes he showed us all different kinds of flowers, herbs and vegetation and explained park management in relation to the impact of the quarries. You could sense his love for the park. Besides all this, he treated us on a homemade cake and some delicious herbal tea during lunch. In the end we also received some great wine from a local vineyard. Hernâni, thank you so much for this wonderful experience!
