It was an informative and fun experience.

My family and I had an amazing time on the Chocoholics Walking Odyssey Wellington! One of the biggest surprises was just how much of Wellington we got to explore. There was quite a bit of walking, which turned out to be a wonderful bonus. We rode the iconic cable car, strolled through the city's vibrant streets, visited historical sites, and, of course, indulged in an incredible amount of chocolate along the way.Our guide, Stella, was fantastic. She kicked off the experience by welcoming each of us with a piece of chocolate, immediately setting the tone for the tour. Throughout the afternoon, we visited several wonderful chocolate shops where we sampled handcrafted chocolates, rich hot chocolate, chocolate cookies, decadent pastries, and so many other delicious treats. I didn't think it was possible, but by the end of the tour we were officially "chocolated out!"Stella was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and so much fun to spend the afternoon with. Our group quickly bonded, and we turned into a lively, laughter-filled bunch. Rather than simply leading the tour, Stella embraced the energy, joined in the fun, and made the experience feel warm, personal, and memorable.We had an absolutely wonderful time and would recommend this tour a thousand times over. If you love chocolate, enjoy discovering local businesses, and want to experience more of Wellington on foot, this tour is well worth the money. You won't be disappointed!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this tour company and our guide. They were simply phenomenal.From the very beginning, their communication was outstanding. They reconfirmed the tour before our scheduled date, which I appreciated immensely. It seems like such a simple courtesy, yet so many tour companies overlook it. Knowing everything was confirmed ahead of time gave us confidence that we were in good hands.Our guide, Jon, was exceptional. From the moment we met him, he was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and incredibly well prepared. He greeted us with a printed list of his favorite local restaurants for us to keep, then walked us through the day's itinerary, explaining where we were headed, what we would see, and sharing interesting background about Wellington before we even began.Throughout the tour, Jon constantly pointed out landmarks, hidden gems, and fascinating local history that we would have otherwise missed. I especially appreciated how attentive he was to our safety, even warning us about uneven pavement and cracks in the sidewalk as we walked. It was such a thoughtful touch and showed how much he genuinely cared about his guests.The food itself was absolutely outstanding. Every stop was carefully chosen, and we loved everything we sampled. We enjoyed delicious hot drinks with scones, local desserts, incredible sandwiches, authentic fish and chips, pavlova, regional beverages, and so much more. By the end of the tour, we were absolutely stuffed! Jon even took us through a local supermarket, explaining New Zealand's food culture and introducing us to products we never would have discovered on our own. It added another unique and memorable dimension to the experience.This was far more than just a food tour...it was an introduction to Wellington through someone who clearly loves sharing his city with visitors. Jon's passion, kindness, and knowledge made this one of the absolute highlights of our time in Wellington.I would give this tour 10 stars if I could. If you're considering booking it, don't hesitate...you won't be disappointed. Come hungry, because you'll leave completely satisfied, with wonderful memories and a genuine appreciation for Wellington. Thank you, Jon, for making our visit so special!

Had a wonderful tour around Martinborough sampling local food and drink with a trip to 2 vineyards (Poppys and Blue Earth), a taproom, cheese shop and a local chocolate shop with a game of guessing the flavour. It was a great addition to our honeymoon and we even bought some cheese, wine and chocolate on the tour for later on our honeymoon.We even got to do an olive oil tasting which we had never done before and it was interesting tasting the different blends and qualities of oil. Just don't be persuaded to try an olive of the trees, they are very bitter and do not taste how you would expect.The local guide was very knowledgeable about the area and could answer any questions we had as well as being really friendly.

Fantastic tour with Stella. We experienced Cable cars, toured the botanical gardens, walked on backstreets as we covered the entire city, sampling chocolates along the way. Stella knows the city and all its history which she shares so easily. What an unexpected and fun way to tour Wellington.

We had a wonderful day thanks to Gary our tour guide. He gave us a detailed history about the different locations we passed through. Explained the background of the wineries before we got there. He was very warm and friendly and a very safe driver. Highly recommend the tour, and enjoyable well spent day.

My wife and I had the best time today. Jon is very passionate about food and his city. It was a great day with Jon exploring the world of Wellington and its many facets of food and history. Definitely a must do!

We had an amazing experience with Aaron. He was very knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. We learned so much about the Jewish heritage and also the history of New Zealand.

A fabulous morning with John! Patient, knowledgeable, funny! We frequented total kiwi-food establishments and each stop brought surprises and wonderful flavors! A must for those wanting an unique eating/history experience

This was an amazing tour. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the drive out to Martinborough fly by. The food, wine and olive oil were fantastic and complemented by the amazing landscape. We had a fab time, learning about Martinborough and its history.

This was a great experience. This was touring and discovering the area. A local cheeserie. Walking through a family owned vineyard talking to the vintner about all things wine, tasting the grapes off the vine if the time is right. A fabulous lunch. Then walking through an olive grove talking to the owner about all things olives and farming. Wine tasting, a brewery for the boys if needed and some chocolate to finish. Our guide Phil has been doing this for 15 years and has a great knowledge of the area and relationships with the people we visited. Something for people who want to know more about the places they visit.

We spent three hours with Jon who is an excellent foodie and knows all the hidden gems in Wellington. He is also a great story teller and a very friendly guy. We had best meat pies and whitebait, great oysters, pavlova, chocolate and more One of the best things to do in NZ

Fantastic experience and we learnt so much. Alex gave us our tour and we enjoyed getting up close with the bees and seeing their production area. The honey is outstanding and what wonderful hosts Alex and Karly are. Would highly recommend this

Aaron took us on a great historical adventure. We went everywhere. It showed on the itinerary and then some. He is able to express his extensive knowledge of history, including my Jewish heritage clearly. An unexpected highlight of the day was a visit to Diaspora. We were so lucky to have a behind the scenes tour with Dennis a restoration specialist who not only restored, but knows the history of every nook and cranny. Lunch was delicious and so was the stop for ice cream afterwards. Thanks for a great day, Aaron!
