Miro was our guide. Perfect. Lots of info, speed was perfect. You can always tell when someone loves their job. Plus he was kind to the couple who struggled a bit and ended up towing them. We loved it. -active 75 year old couple.

I chose kayaking on Solheimajokull over Jokullsarlon for more personal and less touristy experience. And it was 100% perfect decision. It was closer to our Airbnb than Glacier Lagoon, so we were not tired from driving, the place is peaceful and quiet, and the guide, Tom, is very knowledgeable, ready to share, interesting to talk to and very helpful with all things paddling, kayaking and being safe. He also takes great pictures. The floating icebergs and the glacier carry the ash from the volcano eruptions, a close look shows the ash frozen into the ice as a layer, reminding me of epoxy art pieces or amber with prehistorical inserts inside the ancient resin. And on the day after solar eclipse I found a lava rock with embedded iron that looks like eclipse! I will post it among my pictures.True “fire and ice” experience.

Sebastian was a friendly, knowledgeable and patient guide with a sense of humor and an appreciation for his job. He told us everything we needed to know and kept us safe. The entire experience was smooth and the perfect active excursion for me, my husband and our 19 year old son. My husband & I were in a tandem kayak and our son was thrilled to go solo. Waterproof bags with neck straps for phones are highly recommended.

One of the best tours in Iceland. Sebastian was an incredible guide and brings you right up to the floating glaciers. He was calm, informative, and gave a great safety brief that would ease anyone with any anxiety. It didn’t even compare to our Alaskan cruise excursions. Don’t miss this excursion of your in Iceland.

We had an absolutely amazing experience kayaking at the glacier lagoon! 10/10 🚣🏻From the moment we met at the office, our guide, Sebastian from Argentina, made us feel welcome and excited for the adventure. He was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. Before getting into the kayaks, he gave a clear safety briefing, making sure everyone felt comfortable and confident. Once we were on the water, Sebastian continued to provide excellent guidance, sharing interesting facts about the glacier and the surrounding area while ensuring everyone was safe and enjoying the experience. Paddling among the icebergs with such breathtaking scenery was an incredible experience, and having such a fantastic guide made it even better. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland!!!

nice activity to see glaciers

We had the best time with Sebastian as our guide for our Icelandia kayaking adventure. He was extremely kind and helpful with teaching us how to row, telling us when to stop moving/what to do, gave us fun facts about glaziers, and much more! He was also very safety cautious, which we really appreciated, especially because of us not being familiar with the iceland weather and terrain. I’m very happy with our experience with Sebastian, and highly recommend him for anyone else planning to do kayaking in Vic!

This is an amazing tour and very well organised. Miro was our guide and looked after us all so well, he noted I was a little nervous and kindly checked in with me throughout the tour which was greatly appreciated. We had a grey and rainy day but don't let that put you off, if anything it makes you feel even more alive! My son and I were complete novices but had no problems at all on the tour so it is fine for beginners. Take a protective phone pouch to wear around your neck, we had read that the tour includes photos but it does not and taking them yourself is a bit tricky! if I had known i'd definitely have taken my phone pouch which would have made things (a bit) easier. The tour size is just right and we felt camaraderie with our fellow tourists which made for a lovely atmosphere. All in all a fantastic experience.

We had a great moment with Miro who was very friendly and gave us many useful and instructive information about the glacier, the volcanos and the evolution of the Icelandic landscapes during the last decades. We were also quite lucky to see an Arctic fox from the kayak.

Fantastic glacier lagoon kayaking tour! Big thanks to our guide Sebastian for his great patience. He gave me enough time to translate everything to my non-English speaking parents, and took gorgeous family photos for us. The view is incredible, yet I feel quite upset about the ongoing melting of glaciers. Highly recommended family activity!
