Top Vienna Climbing

Michael was awesome and this trip was one of my favorites of the entire vacation. Getting out of the city and hiking on a private tour was amazing. Michael was so knowledgeable and helpful, moving things off the path and making the route less slippery, or even pointing out slippery spots ahead, Michael went over and above. This was well worth the money and was the best experience.In researching for things to do on this trip I kept seeing hiking tour reviews with Michael and all of the good things you read in the other reviews are every bit true :)

I had the most amazing experience with my guide, Delon. The location is very romote with limited accommodation options. My guide picked me up in Vienna, and drove us to the village near the starting point. It’s 4-5 hours drive, therefore, I strongly recommend you to discuss with your guide before the trip.The weather is another wild card. You might get disfavored weather conditions in the mountain area. Following the guidance from your guide not only protect you from accidents and injuries, but also ensure you have the best time.They do provide all the equipments and help you with scheduling etc. Overall, I would give Delon 10/10 recommendations and definitely take friends back and have more fun!

It was truly amazing experience. Michael is an extremely good guide, very knowledgeable about both history and geography of the region. He provided real insights about the entire region and its topography. The actual trek was well planned and as the weather conditions were good, we completed the entire trek in scheduled time. Michael was happy to answer all our questions before and during the trip. This was a real unique experience and I would recommend it highly.

It was an epic day . The entire experience was exciting from start to end . The views were endless. The vertical climbing with the via Ferrata offered every possible emotion . The guide was also very helpful every step of the way. .. he was from Tastaholics Sri Lanka

My husband and I did this tour with Michael as our guide, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s lovely to get out of the cities and see some of Austria from a different vantage point, experiencing its nature and wildlife. The valley and forest here are simply stunning and a must-see.Michael was great to talk to along the way and was always ready with the camera to capture the moments and the surroundings.

Had no idea that a hike like this was possible so close to Vienna. I will be back to this area and visit not only the Hohe Wand area but the surrounding mountain peaks as well. It was wonderful to get out of the city. Michael was a fantastic guide and really knows his stuff. It took us 4 1/2 hours to complete, which included a long stop for lunch. Good boots that will support your ankle and provide sufficient grip on slippery rocks and loose soil are recommended. I also took a hydration pack that also held my light lunch and another clothing layer.

We stayed at one of the properties in Mount Lavinia owned by Tastaholicss (Mount Lavinia Ocean Residence) When we got to know that they run tour with a Volkswagen bus. We really wanted to do it. It was a dream to travel in my dream car which I always wanted to own.The bus was wel taken care of and well restored. We stayed 3 nights in one of the surf camps in Weligama.It was a great experience and we loved it. Thanks Tastaholics!Highly recommended.

The sky ladder was an epic experience. Our guide was very good and helpful in getting us up and down. The weather was perfect. It was crowded however the other climbers were all professional and respectful. Overall an excellent time

This is my favorite thing I did on my trip to Austria! The hike and the town you access it through (Dürnstein) are absolutely stunning and Michael is an INCREDIBLE guide! He is so experienced and I felt completely safe the entire time knowing I was with someone so familiar with the outdoors and the route itself. I also felt completely safe and comfortable the entire time with Michael as a solo female traveler. He took me to see a few cool things off the traditional path and he has so much knowledge of both the environment and the history around the castle where Richard the Lionheart was held. Michael is very kind and even makes sure to snap pictures of you along the hike and send them to you later, which is especially great if you are traveling alone like I am. I will absolutely look into doing another hike with Michael next time I return to Austria. Do be sure to bring proper hiking boots and water for this one! I truly can’t express how wonderful this hike was!

If you’re wondering why this tour has 5 starts it’s because micahel is a 5 star tour guide! We absolutely had the best day ever hanging out with Michael. Due to weather conditions we were able to actually do 3 different hiking trails and they were 10/10 incredible. Not only do you get to experience breathtaking views - Michael also shares really cool history facts as well. And as if the trip couldn’t be better - he is ALSO an incredible photographer that took amazing pictures for us. If you want to do soemthing and see something that the city can’t do - PLEASE book this tour. I guarantee it will be the highlight of your trip.

Michael was great with communication before the trip and throughout. This was a great private joke and we didn't see any other people so felt we had the wall to ourselves. We took the challenging route with a number of ladders and rungs so the day was varied and exciting as well as beautiful.

Loved getting out of the city with an experienced guide. Wiener was knowledgeable and provided a lot of insights and education along the way. It was fantastic way to experience the Alps. The scenery was spectacular.

Amazing experience, our Guide Michael communicated well before the hike, ensuring we had the correct equipment for the day. He arrived promptly at the pick up point, then drove us to the small town of Dürnstein, fortunately he spoke great English, so we conversed well during the drive. He started with a little tour of the town, and explained a few points of interest in the town. From there he took us to that start of the Hike, and off we went. The Forrest was great to walk through, and the trek was very picturesque. Michael paced the hike well, taking breaks at great viewpoints, and also took photos for us, that he later shared after the hike. The hike included a break at the mid point at a small café near the top of the hike which was a great break point. We then continued to the Castle ruins, which were great to see and be able to walk around. The length and distance of this hike were perfect for us, we have been on previous hikes were it has only taken an hour or so to complete the hike, this took the full 4 hours and there was always something to see, including wildlife.

My wife and I had an amazing time on this tour! It was raining in the area we were supposed to hike to so our guide Michael took us to a different location (20-30 minutes outside of Vienna in the Forrest) and we saw some old fortresses and beautiful scenery. Michael was extremely knowledgeable about the history, wildlife, and fauna during our trip. He also took pictures that he shared with us along the trip. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone that wants to see more of the beautiful scenery outside of Vienna and learn a lot from a very experienced and great guide!

My girlfriend and i had a wonderfull day with Michael. He was very calm and professional and seemed to have infinite facts about Austria and a true passion for hiking. He is also quite the photographer offering to take some pictures of me and my girlfriend (with our phone).

I did the 4-hour private alpine hike tour with Michael. The views on this hike were breathtaking. Michael was very knowledgeable about the area and took every step to make the experience comfortable and safe. He was even able to tailor the hike to my interests. I loved seeing the castle, and then because we finished early, Michael took me on another short hike for more amazing views. It's definitely a highlight of my time in Austria.
