Olga was the perfect guide. She tailored our hike to the abilities and requests of our group of four. She picked us up at the port and drove us to a great trail. It was full of waterfalls, streams, lakes, trees and gorgeous views. She supplied snacks, water and hiking poles. Olga was extremely knowledgeable about the hiking area, Sitka and Alaska in general.

Highly recommend this Jeep tour
We really enjoyed the Jeep rental. It allowed us to explore at our own pace and to see things we otherwise would not have seen. Picking it up was quick and easy, and turning it back in was a breeze. We were able to visit Fortress of the Bear after the rest of the cruise crowds left. We did some off roading where were able to watch salmon making their way upstream in small streams to spawn. I would highly recommend.

The pilot was great he took us over mountains , showed us many lakes and pointed out many mountain goats, beautiful rivers and and the volcano Mount Edgecumbe. He took us out over the bay where we were able to see whales just a wonderful experience. We definitely recommend.

We had such an incredible experience with our Olga! From start to finish, she went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time. She was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely so kind.She picked the perfect hike based on our skill level and what we were looking for in terms of views. We couldn’t have asked for a better trail or a better experience!She came fully prepared with all the necessary equipment, including hiking poles, snacks, etc. Her car was also spotless and super clean, and she communicated everything so well throughout the entire experience. You could tell she truly cared about making sure we were comfortable, prepared, and enjoying ourselves.One of our favorite parts was learning about the different species and wildlife that live in the forest we hiked through. Her knowledge and passion made the hike so much more interesting and memorable. She also went out of her way to show us a bear rescue place and we even got to see some whales on our drive back!Overall, she was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with. If you’re looking for a hiking guide who is knowledgeable, organized, thoughtful, and genuinely a wonderful person, I cannot recommend her enough! She made our experience so special, and we would absolutely hike with her again. Views were 10/10. 🌲🥾

Our flight departed from the dock next to the ship where our pilot was waiting. We got to see beautiful views over the mountains and alpine lakes, saw some wildlife, and got a view of Sitka and the Sound. We even saw whales from the air. We are so happy we booked this flight!

So many whales!
Wow! This was my second whale watch with Baranof, and if I get to Sitka again, I would definitely go with them. Small boat, only five passengers, so no crowding, no jostling at the rail to get a look. Captain Tad knows all the spots to look for wildlife. We started out with a stop to watch two sea lions, then stopped to watch murrelets, a kind of diving bird I hadn't seen before. And then whales. So many whales! We saw two at our first whale stop, then we saw a lot more at our next. I'm not sure how many whales we saw, but at one point, there were three up and breathing, and I didn't know where to point the camera first! We saw some sea otters and then went to a buoy where sea lions were lounging. One sat up and it looked like it was waving at us! The tour is only two hours, but because the boat is fast, there's plenty of time at each stop. Because the boat (and Tad) go fast, it makes for a bouncy ride. We had the option of sitting down inside if the motion was too much. But even then, it could be uncomfortable for some people. Fortunately, we were all hearty sailors and had a great time out on deck enjoying the windy ride.

Captain Chris was so great to work with. The meet up and communication was easy and smooth. Then he took us the most amazing boat ride where we saw bears, bald eagles, otters and whales. He also knew so much about the area that was interesting to learn. I highly recommend this tour.

The bear excursion was fantastic! Parker (a true local, having been born here) was a knowledgeable and friendly guide. We saw one mama bear with three cubs at our first stop and then were able to watch another mama and her one cub swim along the bank of one of the islands for quite a distance. Then we capped off the experience with seeing some whales, one of which dove down on one side of our boat and emerged on the other. Parker had binoculars on board for our use and the boat was spotless and comfortable. Directions for connecting with him were clear. And have gave super dinner recommendations! Highly recommend!

Wildlife Tour in Alaska!
There are many whale watching tours in Sitka but Sitka Safari is special. Available for small group up to six people Captain Mike tailors the cruise to fit the passengers. A licensed Sea Captain his knowledge of the area is unparallel. More importantly he is very willing to share his knowledge. We just completed our second tour with Captain Mike and he continues to out do the last one. On this trip we saw huge number of whares up close, bears even closer, sea otters, and harbor seals. Captain Mike arranged for a local naturalist to joins us for a tour of an island that is home to more than 500,000 birds. We were able to get lots of pictures of the elusive Puffin.
