Isa was wonderful. Her cooking is incredible and she gave us lots of tips and tricks to recreate our chicken mole and guacamole. I cannot wait to make the guacamole with pomegranate again. So unique and so delicious. Isa is so personable and so know that I would definitely return for another meal. You couldn’t ask for a more gracious hostess.

Amazing private cooking lesson with Chef Alma
We ended with a private Mexican cooking class (on a weekday as we were the only ones signed for the group class) with Chef Alma and honestly, it was one of the best things I did with my son in a while. She's warm and easy to be around from the second you walk in, and she customized the menu for us as we are vegetarians.We kicked things off with a guava agua fresca — just fresh guavas blended with water — which was the perfect way to start. Then we got into it: chunky guacamole, and a rojo salsa where Chef Alma spent a ton of time one-on-one with my teenage son, who has literally never cooked anything in his life. She had him grilling tomatoes, garlic, and onion and turning it all into a paste for the salsa, and honestly it was great watching him get into it.From there we made cilantro rice and rolled out our own corn tortillas from scratch, which we used for chicken and cheese enchiladas. Then we sat down and ate everything we'd made — and it was genuinely delicious, really flavorful across the board.Because it ended up as a private class, it never felt rushed. Chef Alma is clearly one of the best at what she does — patient, knowledgeable, and happy to answer every random question we threw at her. Can't recommend this enough if you want a fun, hands-on afternoon that's also just a genuinely good time. We will look to book her class again our next trip to Playa.

Wonderful Cultural Chocolate Experience!
Our group of 6 had an absolutely amazing time! Our experience was so in depth and really showed us all portions of the traditional chocolate making process ! We felt like we came away with a much deeper knowledge and appreciation for chocolate history and connection to the culture of the region. We got to get our hands dirty (in a very fun way!) and all the chocolate treats we got to sample along the way were delicious! Thank you so much!

I booked the 3 course meal class for my friend’s bachelorette party in Playa del Carmen, and we all had a blast. Our taxi driver got a bit lost on the way to the house, but Coty was responsive and helped us navigate the neighborhood. We were welcomed with some jicima agua fresca which was perfect for the warm day. We learned how to make 3 different kinds of salsas with various preparation methods, as well as guacamole with fresh fried tortilla chips. For our main dish we made quesabirria and birria with refried beans, which was so delicious. All the cooking components were so hands on which was so enjoyable. We finished the class with a chili class and tequila/mezcal tasting. The whole experience was so informative, and we learned so much about Mexican cuisine and the various ingredients commonly used. Would 100% recommend this experience to others.

We had a great time taking Chef Coty’s three course menu cooking lesson. We made birria, guacamole, chips, two salsas and an amazing amaretto flan. She also included a class on different types of chiles and one on tequila and mezcal. Her house is set up perfectly for the classes and her communication about directions and food preferences was excellent. We would definitely recommend her class.

We had a marvelous time! We did Cooking Cancun last year with Alberto and Lili with our 3 sons (17-22yr old) and we had such a fun time learning and laughing with Alberto and Lili that we wanted to do it again on our visit to Playa Del Carmen this year! We were totally tickled that Alberto and Lili were our instructors again, filling in for Chef Alma for the day! We just adore Alberto and Lili! This year we brought our 3 sons (18-23 yr old) and new daughter in law. We made chicken mole- which was the best we had ever had, guacamole, red & green salsas, red rice and peppers in cream (I can’t remember the Spanish name of it)! They also greeted us with jicama juice and later in the class we had tequila for who wanted it and mocktails for those who didn’t want alcohol- very delicious! Alberto and Lili are funny and educational and we enjoyed cooking, talking, laughing, joking and dancing with them! Our taxi driver knew where the SILVA store was, easy to find, and Alberto was out front waiting for us and then guided us to where the class was - a short walk. Highly recommend, very memorable, hands on, and you get the recipes to make on your own! We hope to get with our friends Alberto and Lili and do it again!

This was such an amazing experience. Chef Lorena was not only very knowledgeable about the foods we picked and why we did different things in the recipe but was also extremely friendly. I went with my partner and friends, we had such a great time. We played little games that taught us about Mexico and we learned a lot of surprising facts. The appetizers and different foods that Lily brought out were delicious. We all had a great time preparing our own drinks and it was super fun. Loved Lorenas Cooking class. It was her personality that was so exciting. She gave us lots of tips where and what to buy. We tried two drinks and appetizers / a main. She answered not just cooking questions but rather about culture and everything we wanted to know. I felt i could have just kept having another drink with her and keep talking like with a really good friend. The apartment was very nice and stylish. Kitchen was equipped well with an kitchen island so we could see all what was going on and what to do and fit in / around fine. There were a Canadian couple there as well and so it was just refreshing to get in touch with other cultures and chatting. I was traveling solo and I would not want to miss it - I felt not excluded at all or weired. On top of that we got to meet her house cat and turtle 🐢 😍I would recommend it - it feels like a family get together. She ist just an amazing person and again it was just so lovely.

This is exactly the kind of experience you and your friends/ partner would enjoy if you appreciate a more elevated yet still authentic cooking class. The food was fun and insanely delicious, clean, fresh ingredients and great skills you can take home. It was easy enough for my boyfriend who would consider himself a beginner, but challenging enough for me who feels more comfortable in the kitchen lol. Coti is honest and passionate and makes the entire night feel personalized. I cant wait to come back. I definitely recommend coming with an appetite and being adventurous!

We booked Chef Jorge for a private dinner during our stay in Playa del Carmen and it was honestly one of the highlights of the trip.The food was excellent, fresh, well balanced, and beautifully plated; but what we appreciated most was how relaxed the whole experience felt. Everything was well organized, communication was easy, and we didn’t have to worry about anything.Chef Jorge was professional but very approachable, explained the dishes without making it feel formal, and kept the evening flowing naturally. It felt like a restaurant-level meal at home, but much more personal.If you’re thinking about booking a private chef in the area, this is 100% worth it. We would book again without hesitation
