What an incredible day. The sights were absolutely amazing and we could not have had a better guide than Gilles. It was like having an old friend taking us through beautiful Siuthern France. I would definitely recommend to any future cruisers coming to Marseille.

Gilles was an excellent tour guide and extremely friendly. He was extremely knowledgable of the history of Marseille, Aix en Provence and Cassis. He took us through an excellent walking tour of Aix en Provence. He recommended some outstanding vantage points for us to take photos overlooking Cassis. Definitely a worthwhile excursion!

Herve was a phenomenal guide. He evaluated my interests and expectations of this booking and met all of them. We drove up to the top of Cap Canaille for stunning views of Cassis and the Mediterranean. We toured Marseille, including the Basilica, Palais Longchamps, the ports and harbors. We walked around Aix- en- Provence and finished the tour with a visit to an overlook of the Calanques Canyons. Herve was informative and very personable.

This was the fourth of 4 exceptional private tours with Romain from Guide Provence. We had so much fun! We learned so much! This tour was worth every penny. I highly recommend Guide Provence and Romain for all of your private tour needs!Romain met us in front of Aix’s tourist information center, an easy walk from our hotel. He showed us all around the streets and alleyways of Aix, pointing out certain stores, museums, buildings, Cezanne's childhood school and home, university buildings, and churches while regaling us with fun historical details and vignettes about all kind of things -- art, history, culture, and more. Fantastic!We then hopped in his very comfortable, roomy car and he drove us to Cassis, taking the scenic route, stopping at a gorgeous overlook of Cassis and The Calanques National Park on a beautiful windy day that refreshingly threatened rain from time to time. Just as we got back in the car for the rest of the drive to Cassis, the clouds let loose — it was spectacular!Cassis was colorful and charming, unique and refreshing. It was so different from all of the other towns we had visited so far. We stopped at a cute cafe and had a delicious spread of local wine, local cheeses, shrimp, mussels, bread, greens, olives, pickles, and the like. The meal and conversation were memorable and such a treasured part of our visit. (Romain is so fun and easy to be around!) After lunch, we walked around the port and the town as he told us more about the local geography, the Calanques, the local history and culture before taking the drive back to our Aix hotel. (I'm aware that a boat tour of the Calanques is a typical add-on to a tour of Cassis, but the wind, weather, and choppy seas did not lend themselves to boating that day, so I did not bring it up. Neither did Romain. We had an extraordinary time nevertheless!)Throughout our 4 different private tours with Romain, he readily adapted aspects of our tours to the weather, to any logistical problem of the moment, to any stated desires. This is just one of the reasons that I often hire a private tour guide on so many of my vacations. My friends, family, and I all love to learn. With an exceptional private tour guide like Romain, all you have to do is show up — and you will learn. Our guide Herve picked us up right on time- he was knowledgeable about the area and took us to notable historic sites in both Aix and Cassis. We visited a chocolate shop in Aix to sample calisson and delicious chocolates. We had time on our own in Cassis to get lunch prior to the boat trip for the Calanques. Cassis was a delightful seaside community. The boat trip was fine. The weather was cloudy and threatening rain so the color of the sea was grey and not the brilliant blue seen in the pictures- but the scenery was still worth seeing. It was a long day and very nice to have a knowledgeable person doing the driving!

Our guide Gillis was waiting off the ship with my name right on time. He was very energetic about his country and explained our itinerary for the day. We toured Provence and Cassis. He arranged a spot for our lunch as we walked around. We had a nice lunch on the beach. We continued to hit all the spots on our itinerary and many great stops for senic views and pictures. We had a great day in France.

Gille was so accommodating after our cruise! He picked us up from the port and took us to the most fun and beautiful places of Marseille, Aix en Provence, and Cassis and then dropped us off at the airport. Was even able to store our luggage in our van throughout the tour. He was also very friendly and great with our kids. Highly recommend!

Gimles was a fantastic tour guide who was friendly. He took us all around his marvelous town of Aix-En-Provence and Marsaille. So much history and culture to see. We had many stops and got to eat local cuisine. The views were amazing but mostly, Gillis has to be the kindest person ever.

Gilles is amazing. With him "anything is possible". We saw amazing sites with his great knowledge of the history in the area. He knows everyone and showed us an excellent France! Aix en Provence, Casis, and Marseille. A lot for one day but Gilles energy was great and infectuous.
