It was great ! We had the opportunity to climb a mountain and do some site seeing, we went through a risk assessment and made sure it was safe, alll in all, was very good.

Would definitely recommend Chris as a tour guide for hiking in Sapporo. He led my family (myself, husband and 2 kids under 10) on a fantastic hike up the Soranuma dake trail up to the Bankei hut and lake. He was knowledgeable, friendly , good with the kids and made us all feel very safe. I don’t often write reviews but felt compelled to write this one as he was so good!

Chris is a native English speaker with 10 years of experience living in and hiking in Hokkaido. We enjoyed a moderate hike through a national park on a beautiful sunny day. Chris shared information on native flora and fauna. Much recommended!

Comfort and Safety paramount in hiking/climbing and Chris ensured that I enjoyed the trip! Chris briefed me perfectly on safety and customer expectations vs customer experience! The experience was beyond my expectations! I will come back to hike other trails with Chris! Bravo and take the plunge, it’s worth it!

Chris who organised the trip was a good guide. We had a nice walk in the forest in the mountain, had some great views and finished with a pleasent bath in a local onsen.

Chris was super professional. He was very knowledgable about the flora and fauna and well prepared for any environmental uncertainties (weather/wild animals). He was also great to chat with and has plenty of interesting stories from his time in Japan.Word of advice: Make sure to dress appropriately for the experience. I highly recommend boots for hiking and a full change of clothes afterwards too if you go to the onsen.

Chris is a fantastic tour guide, with great local knowledge of the area while also letting the wonderful nature surrounding you speak for itself.I would wholeheartedly recommend this for anyone that wishes to see the best parts of the Hokkaido back-country!

Chris took me on an out of the way hike up a nice ridge to a vantage point overlooking an old caldera. Would have never found this one on my own. He then brought me to an onsen that was equally nice, not overly crowded even though it was a weekend, and plenty of locals enjoying themselves (i.e. not a tourist trap).

I opted for this tour on my last day in Sapporo, and am so glad I did not miss it!! What a breathtaking experience to hike all the way along the ridge of the mountain! When we finally reached the summit, it felt like I could touch the hand of God! On the way down the mountain, we stopped for a while to have a delicious, hearty lunch (a la Chris) and continued further on our journey afterwards. After the hike, we stopped by the oden (natural hot water pools) - a perfect way to end a superb day! Chris is a great tour guide and is very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this trip!!
