Grindelwald Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

My preconceived notion of Grindelwald First was of a commercialised & advertised activity that may not really be worth. However, when I reached the top after a very long Gondola ride, the views on practically all sides are mesmerising.

Great experience with nice service. Long queue but it went fast. Even without tickets bought beforehand.

Pick up from train station was seamless, driver waiting for us with name sign very easy to locate. He was very informative as we drove to hotel and pointed things out along the way. Nice clean Mercedes van very comfortable. The 2nd driver for pick up from hotel to next location was a few minutes late which is unusual in Switzerland and we were not notified in Advance, However company did reply quickly when I contacted them and driver showed up shortly after. Only 10 min delay and he was also nice, but not as local as first driver as he’d only been here 2 years. Very good overall service with clean, spacious vehicles. We will call again for next trip. Two couples on vacation in September.

Really interesting hike through the canyon with great information about the glacier's retreat over the years. Also, there is a fun net to walk on over the glacier water if you chose to do so.

Hanspeter was amazing. He tailored three days of hiking to our comfort level and the weather. He planned hikes so that we covered most of the valleys in the Grindelwald area and were able to experience the key view “spots”! Highly recommend Hanspeter for any skill level as he is an experienced mountain guide and climber!

Nico was absolutely the best. He contacted me a week before the tour to make sure we were all set. That was a real comfort as I had experience with other tour operators that the guide didn't even show up.Nico was knowledgeable and attentive to details. We had 2 teenage girls in our group and Nico for sure has helped make it a fun day for my family.

After the canyon swing, I was incredibly happy and felt free. I overcame a personal limit and was proud of myself. Before the jump, the cliffs scared me, but afterwards that feeling had almost disappeared. I was also glad that I already knew the guide from bungee jumping—that gave me additional security. 😀

Well run, fun and informative. Our guide, Nico, was great. He was organized, directed us to all the best viewing points and never made us feel rushed. I highly recommend taking a tour with him.

My daughter and I completed this tour with Weronica and loved it… the views, the company, and of course the cheeses and chocolates!

Our experience at Hotel Status Club and Resort was excellent. From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth. The ambiance is beautiful, service is prompt, and the staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable. The restaurant serves tasty food and the property is well maintained. Perfect for both family stays and events. Highly recommended!

I loved the scenery. Swiss is just beautiful in white. The guide was superb, very kind and personal. The group also made it nice.

It is not a tour - we just got the ticket before. But that was ok, you don't need a guide. We went later in the morning and it works fine with the tickets. No need to exchange - just walk through to the cableway. Very smooth ride with stunning views along the way. When you get to the top, you can do a lot of things, from different walks to rides. Hiking to Bachalpsee is also very nice, though I struggle a bit.
