Get ready for an amazing adventure! We're going to take the north channel up to the top and then come back through the Pegunta ravine to Sant Joan de Penyagolosa.
It is important to note that… This route is perfect for experienced hikers looking for a challenge! While there is no real climbing, you'll get to experience the thrill of scrambling up steep rocks!
We're leaving Valencia making our way to Vistabella de Maestrazgo, where we'll have breakfast. Then, we're driving to the beautiful monastery of San Joan de Penyagolosa.
The first part of the hike is along the GR-7 trail! We're going to wind our way around the mountain to get to the north side, where the real fun begins!
Get ready for an incredible ascent!
We'll be climbing up some small, loose rocks and then up the canal between the two ridges that make up the Peñagolosa massif.
At last, we'll reach the peak! On a clear day, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the entire province of Castellón and beyond. It'll be the perfect place for a lunch stop!
We'll be heading back through the gorgeous Pegunta ravine, a stunning hike through lush green forests with a river running alongside the trail.
