Overview

Taormina, one of the best-known cities in Sicily, one of the most visited in Italy, rises 205 meters above the Ionian Sea and benefits from an exceptional climate and geographical position.
Indisputable jewel of Sicily, like famous places all over the world, Taormina is certainly a corner of paradise visited every year by thousands of tourists.

The fascinating view of the Bay of Naxos and Mount Etna is unforgettable. The fame and discovery of Taormina dates back to the 19th century.

We will let you discover new and surprising aspects of Taormina.

Among the many who stayed there, D.H. Lawrence was one of the most assiduous. It was right here, between 1920 and 1922 together with his wife Frieda, that the English writer wrote essays, short stories and novels.
Corso Umberto is the main street of Taormina. Bordered to the south by Porta Catania and to the north by Porta Messina, it is the heart of the town.
Its ancient Cathedral is an architectural work from the Middle Ages that is unique in the world

    Ancient Theatre of Taormina

The Greek Theater or Ancient Theater is certainly the most representative and important monument present in Taormina. The ancient Theater of Taormina, which was born to host dramatic or musical performances, had been transformed during the Roman era to make room for gladiatorial games and naval battles. This led to the expansion of the orchestra, which in Greek times was intended for players, so as to be adapted to the new arena function.

    Sorting, ranking, and search results

    Activity name

Cool Destinations wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That's why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.

On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You'll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.

If you see a Badge of Excellence label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through Cool Destinations over a 12-month period.

The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We're always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
