Mayan Heritage Artisan Tour from Merida
Overview
Experience the Mayan world as a living culture, living first-hand with artisans, who maintain their traditions for generations, such as the production of artisan honey from the Mayan bee Xunaan Kab, or the art of creating pieces or clothing with carved stone, even potter hands that through glyphs in paint, keep alive their culture embodied in pieces of clay.

Meeting and Pickup
Pickup starts 07:40 am, the last pickup is at 08:30 am to depart with direct transfer to the first attraction. One night before, one of our representatives will contact you to inform the pickup time, as well as the name of the guide who will pick you up. Upon arrival, the guide will ask you to show your ticket online to take a photo and validate that the pickup has already been made. Please consider that punctuality is indispensable in order to fulfill all planned activities.
What To Expect
In the town of Temozon Sur, we will visit 2 to 3 workshops where local artisans open the door of their workshop, where ideas and imagination arise to create unique pieces. The workshops we will visit are:
*Workshop in stone, kitchenware, decorative and more.
*Tasting of Mayan Honey Xunaan Kab (a stingless bee found only on the peninsula, its honey is cultivated from the pollen of medicinal tree flowers that provide unique properties to this vital liquid)
*Workshop of hand hatching in garments.
*Workshop of Mayan pigments and painting in vessels.
