And because many of the best snorkelling spots are easily accessible from the shore this experience requires no long boat ride, simply get ready and walk straight into the crystal clear waters of Gran Canaria to discover the diverse marine life including colourful fish, octopus, cuttlefish and rays.

Meeting and Pickup
We offer a free pick up and drop off service from all accommodation in the southern costal towns of Gran Canaria (Playa del Ingles to Puerto de Mogan) If you require a pick up please let us know so we can arrange this for you. If you are unsure we pick up from your accommodation and it is something you require please contact us before booking to check it can be arranged.We will contact you directly with your pick up time as it will depend on the location you are staying. Pick up times will be between 8:15-9:00 depending on where you are staying. We will confirm your exact pick-up time prior to your snorkel experience via Viator by e-mail.Please be aware we often have other customers to pick up at the same time so we kindly ask you to be there at the time specified by us via email. If you are more than 5 minutes late we cannot guarantee we can wait for you and you will need to make your own way to the dive site.If you are staying further away we can arrange to pick you up from the bus station in Puerto Rico. We can also advise you on which bus is best for you to use. There is a taxi point by the Europe Center where we are based if you prefer to travel by taxi.

What To Expect
Enjoy a guided snorkel tour from the shore in the calm, clear waters of Gran Canaria. Upon arrival at the snorkel site your experienced guide will first give you a detailed briefing about what to expect whilst in the water. This briefing will include safety details, tips to make your snorkel experience as enjoyable as possible and of course inform you of what marine life you may see. Once the briefing is over your guide will assist you in getting ready (putting wetsuit on etc.) before walking down the beach and gradually entering the ocean. In shallow water your guide will help you with your mask, snorkel and fins to ensure you feel comfortable and ready to go! Once everyone is ready you will enjoy a relaxing snorkel session of 45 minutes to 1 hour where your guide will point out different marine life along the way. After being mesmerised by the underwater world you will slowly walk back towards the shore where we will help you take the equipment off and take you back to your hotel to reminisce about your wonderful snorkel experience.

Yes, we allow pregnant women to go on snorkeling. However, it’s crucial to consult with your healthcare provider before doing so to assess your individual health and pregnancy stage.
Jan 2022Yes, this is possible, as long as you are comfortable going into the water. All Cool Destinations snorkeling tours adhere to strict safety regulations and have been designed to be enjoyed by all.
Your safety is our #1 priority, which is why:
- You will be wearing a flotation device at all times.
- On many tours, there is a stairway from the boat into the water so you won’t have to “jump” in!
- There are trained staff in the water and watching from the boat at all times.
For these reasons, we believe that even non-swimmers can have a wonderful time on our snorkeling trips, however, the final judgment call is yours to make. Please note we do not give refunds if you decide not to snorkel on the trip.
Oct 2021The snorkel gear we use on Cool Destinations tours is high quality and for your protection, the equipment is sanitized after each use. However, if you feel more comfortable using your own snorkeling equipment, feel free to bring it on the tour. Please note, there is no discount for providing your own equipment and we can’t be responsible for any lost or damaged items.

Oct 2021There are no legal age limits for snorkeling. We have found that age 5 or 6 is a good age to learn the basics of snorkeling, however, it’s entirely up to individuals to make the best choice for their family.
Sep 2021If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.

- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
