Enjoy a private and authentic cooking class in a local Florence home with your host Antonella and her family. This is a perfect experience for anyone looking to connect with local culture over food. Your hands-on cooking class takes place in a local home kitchen where Antonella will teach you 3-4 traditional Tuscan dishes. After cooking, enjoy your meal together with this lovely Italian family. Antonella is a warm and professional host. You will be able to tell immediately that she is a professional chef and cooking teacher, as almost half of the main floor is made up of the kitchen. She and her husband will welcome you with a classic espresso before you start cooking. After cooking, your hosts will offer you a prosecco to start (typical of Italian meals) followed by a selection of delicious Tuscan red wines. Antonella's husband is a wine lover and throughout the evening, he will engage you in conversation about the different types of wines in the region.

What To Expect
This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Join Antonella at her home kitchen, the kitchen of a professional chef. She has every specialized tool imaginable and a drawer with knives that would make any Master Chef jealous. During your cooking lesson, you will make an appetizer or soup, main dish and dessert from scratch. When you arrive, the kitchen table will already be set with the ingredients for the first recipe. While you begin to put everything together according to Antonella's verbal instructions, she will share with you intriguing tidbits about cooking and baking in Tuscany. You will learn to cook 3-4 authentic Tuscan dishes and enjoy them together at the dining table after cooking. Enjoy dishes such as red wine beef stew in red wine or chicken with mushrooms and balsamic vinegar, a pasta of tagliatelle, gnocchi or ravioli with seasonal vegetables, and bread. Your meal will conclude with a dessert like ricotta and chocolate crostata or tiramisu.
