What To Expect
Gagauzia lies 100km south of Chişinău but is a world apart from the cosmopolitan capital. After a 2 hours drive, we will reach Comrat, their cultural heart. Here you will learn that Gagauzians are the only representatives of Turkish origin that affiliated with the Eastern Orthodox Church. They migrated from Bulgaria and settled in Moldova in XIX century. Nowadays, Gagauzia is an autonomous region in our country. By noon, we will experience authentic Gagauz lifestyle in Congaz village. Gagauz Sofrasi guest house boasts a complex that reproduces the atmosphere and charm of traditional peasant houses: stoves, small wooden windows, shingle and traditional wool rugs. Local ethnographic museum offers genuine clothes for you to try on and make colourful pictures. You will also take part at a cooking master class of Gozleme, a traditional Gagauz pastry. Once your culinary achievements are ready, we will taste flavoured homemade wines in the house wine cellar. Our tour will end with a delicious lunch, where you will enjoy local specialities from lamb, cheese and other delicacies.
