Blackpool Self-Guided City Walking Tour & Scavenger Hunt
Overview
Blackpool built a copy of the Eiffel Tower, laid the world's largest Comedy Carpet on its seafront, and sent three piers into the Irish Sea — and it's still not done trying to impress you.
This app-led scavenger hunt takes you along Blackpool's famous Promenade on foot, using phone-based riddles to guide you from one landmark to the next. No guide, no fixed start time.
• Follow clues to Blackpool Tower, the Comedy Carpet, and the North Pier — three landmarks that have been making people smile since 1894
• Start whenever suits you and take all the time you need — no time limit, no pressure
• Perfect for families, friend groups, and seaside enthusiasts; photo challenges on the Golden Mile are as entertaining as the landmarks themselves
Available in 24 languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian — see the full list when booking and choose yours when you start the game in the app.
Around 2 hours.
The Tower is the obvious bit — your phone has the rest of the story.

What To Expect
Starting at Manchester Square on Blackpool's famous Promenade, enter your 6-digit game code that you received by text and [BRAND] chat message into the free Explorial app and begin a self-guided trail along one of Britain's most exuberant seafronts.
The Blackpool Tower, inspired by the Eiffel Tower and opened in 1894, dominates the Golden Mile — challenges here probe the engineering feat that made it possible and the ballroom hidden inside.
Below the Tower, the Comedy Carpet is a vast outdoor artwork celebrating British comedy, inlaid with jokes, catchphrases, and the names of performers who played Blackpool's stages — riddles here test your knowledge of the acts and venues it honours.
At Blackpool North Pier, the oldest and most elegant of the town's three piers, stretching nearly a kilometre into the Irish Sea, you'll tackle questions about Victorian pier culture and the performers who made it famous.
The trail takes around two hours at a comfortable pace.
