Welcome to McCall

McCall Idaho is a lakeside resort community set on the southern end of Payette Lake in the Western Rockies 108 miles north of Boise. Once a traditional Native American summer fishing and hunting grounds, a sacred place where tribes would rendezvous in peace, mining, forestry, and recreation spurred early European settlement in the region. The first tourist campers arrived in 1883 and now McCall draws summer visitors with hiking, biking, water sports, excellent fishing, and sunny weather. Riggins, a small town 46 miles to the north, is headquarters for whitewater rafting on the wild and scenic Salmon River. In winter, skiers and snowboarders hit the slopes of nearby Brundage Mountain Resort.

Best trip on Salmon River!

I was privileged to float the Samon River from Shorts Bar to Lucile with the 7th grade from the Community School in Sun Valley... 37 students and 9 adults! With 5 boats and guides we had great fun, while confident in all safety precautions. Bodin Aikens was captain of our boat and I could not believe how much geology I learned about this canyon in one afternoon! Very anxious to return next year!

Fun Adventure on the River

We had an absolutely wonderful full day trip! Connie was our fantastic and knowledgeable guide and Thomas our super driver! These guides are well prepared, safe, and super fun! Enjoyed the splashing and excitement of the rapids as well as being able to float in the water for the calm stretches. Lunch was terrific, thanks Jessica, and fit my dietary needs deliciously.

Larkin was a great guide! She was very knowledgeable, and we felt safe the whole time while enjoying the fun rapids & gorgeous scenery. Larkin is well-trained and was a fountain of local area history & lore. They carefully cater the trip to experience & wishes. Would book again with MRO. All the staff was wonderful!

Fantastic tome

Fantastic time. From pickup to safety meeting guides Allie. Nick, chuck and Isaac were fun, friendly and geared so we would have good time. Lunch was an unexpected treat. I was expecting a sandwich w chip but our guides provided fresh cut fruit,pasta salad,chicken wrap. Chips and drinks all on a set of tables prepared while we swam and laid on the beach. Oh and the whitewater rafting’s was great. Truly a high quality experience. Now I want to go on the multi day trip

So much fun with experienced guides

We went on the daily trip and it was amazing!! The rapids were so much fun and our guide Gracie made the trip even better. She was so friendly and knew what she was doing. Thank you for a great experience. Would recommend to everyone. On a side note I was a little nervous about doing it, but the rapids were so fun! Gracie made me feel calm about them and truly enjoy it!!

Major exciting adventure with lots of laughs.

Wow !!! We so enjoyed this whitewater salmon River adventure! My daughter and her boyfriend came here from Culver City specifically to do this trip again. This was our second trip and it was as fun and exciting as the first one! The office phone staff heWe’re really nice helping me with my questions. Our guide Faith was spectacular! Better than the best.We will do it again next summer for sure.

Favorite whitewater trip we’ve done!

Best whitewater trip ever! Isaac was our guide and he was excellent. We did the half day trip and the rapids were great. We saw deer and a lot of different birds. Isaac was very informative and pointed out interesting things on our trip down the river. Great trip for kids. Definitely ride the bull! You won’t regret it.

Fantastic Day Float on the Salmon River

We had a great 1 day float with MRO and really enjoyed our guides, Jake and Ally. The experience was awesome, the scenery incredible and the waves were a blast! Jake is hilarious, be ready for some laughs!
