Make sure to potty before the drive!
Might have been our favorite excursion we did from our entire cruise. The guide was very knowledgeable and the whole experience surpassed our expectations. We loved the facts on the drive and had plenty of time at both stops.Keep in mind, you'll be traveling in a large commercial bus, but theres no bathroom. We had a lady in an emergency require us to make a stop only 5 minutes from the caves. She stood for probably 25 minutes after asking only 15 minutes into it drive.

The scale of the caves must be seen to be understood- they are huge. Simply amazing to go through. Really well organised but unfortunately was ruined by a couple of very selfish people who insisted on chatting during each talk from the guide. Disappointing but there is not much you can do when you get these people. I have never heard grown adults getting shushed as many times and still being clueless. The castle was also great, but a little rushed. There is a lot to explore and a lot of stairs to climb. If you are travelling to the castle make sure you get a tour like this that allows you time inside.

Wonderful tour. The caves are amazing to see (just remember warm clothes). Rachel provided excellent commentary during the journey to/from the caves with interesting insights into the local area and local history. Everything seemed very well organised and we were met at the cruise terminal. Very safe & modern coach driven by Peter. Definitely recommend.

Our tour guide definitely knew a lot about the area. It was a very hot day, but she was great in trying to get us in the shade when she gave us his historical tips. The tour ended with a wonderful food tasting paired with three different wines. We really enjoyed it and got to know the two other couples in our group. It was a lovely way to learn more about the area.

Lake Bled was very nice, but we went on a Saturday and a lot of other people travel to that area on the weekends. Traffic was very bad and because of the traffic, we only had about 30 minutes there in order for us to get to the other location and be back in time, so we were not able to do the boat ride Our tour guide was very knowledgeable but also very concerned about getting us back in time Some other travelers were upset and even took a vote to try to stay at the lake later, but I am glad we got to do both places.

He was flexible with our group’s pace, clearly knew the history inside and out, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we got the most out of both stops. He made the drive between sites just as enjoyable as the cave and castle themselves, sharing context and stories along the way rather than just shuttling us between stops.
