Top Cappadocia Craft Classes

We visited Clay of Cappadocia in June 2026 with our 8-year-old son, who had never tried pottery before. He made a vase that we brought back to the United States. Our son enjoyed the workshop so much that he begged to return the next day, but we already had other plans. To make up for that, we attended a workshop when we returned to the United States. It was 5 times more expensive and had less one-on-one instructor time. If you are into pottery or thinking about trying it, this place is a good value and a great experience for all ages.

Such a fun way to spend an afternoon before heading off on an overnight bus. Lamps pack down nicely for flying, can pay extra for a larger lamp if wanted, our instructor Eren was fantastic and friendly. Also such a range of colours to choose from (both beads and tiles), and beautiful lamps hanging from the sealing if in need of inspiration! Now we have two beautiful lamps in our own styles and colour choices, to remind us of our fun time in Cappadocia! Thank you!

We had such an amazing time at the Turkish Mosaic Lamp Workshop! Ece was a fantastic workshop leader—she explained and demonstrated the entire mosaic-making process so clearly, making it easy and approachable even if you aren't naturally artistic. ​Selecting the colorful glass pieces, designing the geometric patterns, and assembling our lamps was so creative, relaxing, and fun. Having such a unique, hand-crafted souvenir to bring home makes the experience even more special. I couldn't recommend this workshop (and Ece!) more!

From the location to the hosts, the experience was relaxing, creative, and satisfying. A beautiful activity to do with the family (we had an 11-year-old teenager), as a couple, or alone. Creating lamps according to tradition, or with imagination. Materials of many colors and shapes are available, a welcome with tea and sweets, and a kindness with a disarming smile that guides you in the creation of unique pieces. I was met by the lovely Eren who welcomed us with orange tea and Turkish delight. He then showed us step by step how to make the lamps. I didn't think I would be able to do it but with his guidance I am so pleased with my unique lamp. The small lamp is included in the price and my husband did this lamp. I went for the medium lamp which was an extra 1000 turkish lira. There is also a large lamp that was 1200 turkish lira. You have a piece of paper with templates of tradition designs or you can do your own thing. Once you have done this its time to glue your pieces to the lamp. This was a lot easier than I thought. After that you made your mix of small beads and filled in all the gaps. Then Eren plugged in your lamp so it can be revealed in all its glory when it lit up. Both of our lamps came up great. It was a really fun morning and we now have a unique piece for our home. Thank you Eren for a lovely morning. I highly recommend this.

This pottery workshop with Metin at the Kapadokya Comleksilik shop was easily one of the highlights of our time in Cappadocia. Metin is an excellent teacher: patient, welcoming, and clearly passionate about his craft. Even as beginners, we felt comfortable from the start, and he guided us step-by-step in creating our own pottery on the wheel. What makes this experience even more special is that it doesn’t end with shaping the clay. After creating your piece, you also get the chance to draw and paint pottery designs the same day, adding your own personal touch and creativity to the experience. It was both relaxing and incredibly fun.The shop itself is also worth visiting. There are three separate rooms filled with beautifully painted ceramic pottery, showcasing stunning craftsmanship and traditional designs. Walking through these rooms really gives you an appreciation for the artistry and history behind the work.Overall, this experience feels authentic and personal rather than touristy. Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with family, this workshop offers a memorable cultural experience and a unique souvenir you create yourself.Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cappadocia!

What a fabulous experience! Metin was so lovely, he pickup us up and dropped us off at our hotel in Goreme. He showed us each how to make a item, I made a vase and hubby made a bowl. He showed us step by step how make it, then wrapped it up for us to take home. His family has a shop where you can also purchase items, we got some cool little coffee cups and a plate. Highly recommend this tour

This experience was absolutely wonderful. We did it as a family. Just a great way to spend a few hours. Staff was kind and helpful. We’re all very happy with our lamps - much much better than buying one at a tourist shop!

Our first mosaic lamp workshop and we absolutely loved it! Ece (AJ) was such a warm, bubbly instructor who made the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish. She patiently guided us through the templates, showed us how to apply the glue and helped us choose and mix our beads to create our designs. We were the only couple booked for our chosen date and time so the session felt very relaxed and personal, with no sense of being rushed. The location was beautiful too, overlooking the fairy chimneys and offering stunning sunset views. The free-flow Turkish tea and delicious Turkish delights were a lovely bonus! They also provided bubble wrap for our lamps, making it easy to bring them home safely. Our Cappadocia trip was made even more memorable not only by the hot air balloon ride but by this wonderful experience as well. Thank you, Ece 💖

I went to the mosaic lamp workshop with my wife and it was a unique experience. Eren and Gigi were really helpful and provided clear instructions every step of the way and now we have a souvenir to take back home

AJ/ece the host was awesome, she was helpful and friendly, she guided those who were making the lamps allowing us to complete freely on our own, she gave ideas etc when needed. I would recommend the experience and her as a guide.

This workshop was great fun! We loved making our lamps! It was a 2 hour experience, but it is as long as it takes you to do. There's no rush! We finished in an hour but some people from the previous class were still there after 2 hours. I would recommend it for anyone children or adults! Our instructor was called Elan or Aron I think 🤔 I feel bad I can't remember his name properly but he was great! Very knowledgeable, he even gave us a restaurant recommendation when we asked!

Today I joined a Turkish lamp workshop and absolutely loved it! ✨ The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and there was no time pressure at all — we could enjoy the whole creative process at our own pace.A very special thank you to Ece 💖 She was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful. She explained everything clearly, helped at every step, and made the experience easy and enjoyable even for beginners. She was so patient and supportive throughout the whole workshop.This was much more than just a class — it became one of my favorite memories from Cappadocia 🩵
