Taormina Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

We had a lovely walking tour with Olge. She was very knowledgeable and proud of the various sights in Taormina, and took us to some places we would have never discovered on our own. The tour of the Greek theater was particularly interesting and the view from there was spectacular.

We had a variety of experiences in our tour - from a gentle stroll in Taormina to some pretty rigorous hiking on Mt. Etna. Giuseppe was honest about the fact that the summit would be cloudy - So we didn't do the gondola ride as we planned. The exploration of the cave was an unexpected and interesting experience, as was the wine tasting. Giuseppe was very knowledgeable about the volcano and had lots of info to share with us as we hiked through some rugged terrain to see some of the many craters.

Alfio was a wonderful guide who took us to eateries we would never have discovered on our own. The street food was delicious and so nice to have wine too. Come hungry!

We explored the volcano more than I expected. It was very interesting. Our guide Enzo was excellent and the pace of the day’s activity was great.

We spent a wonderful evening with Allegra. She is very competent, funny and knows Taormina well. We visited 4 different venues and tasted local food and wine everywhere.....all very delicious and plentiful. And Allegra even followed up with additional recommendations for restaurants/cafés and things to do in the area. Great tour guide!

Our guide Alex was so informative about Lady Etna as well as all volcanoes. He was also very conscientious of safety. Hiking boots, long socks and water shoes are a must to get the most out of the experience. Alex had boots we were able to use, but for comfort your own is better. The water shoes are for the Alcantra. The water is freezing! It was quite cloudy, kind of raining on the mountain on our day, but when we got down to the gorge it was sunny. The weather did impact what we could see and do (we didn’t hike further up just to see the same fog/clouds as we could see below). The day following was beautiful and clear. 😢

This tour was excellent. Very knowledgeable and pleasant driver and the actual Wine Tasting event exceeded our expectations both in the quality of the wine and the quantity of the food provided.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Salvo our guide and driver was friendly, helpful, fun, knowledgeable and patient. We stopped at a honey farm for some great tasting and then at a village ( last before Etna) with a beautiful church. Perfectly timed for a great walk at Mount Etna’s craters and then onto the most memorable and generous wine tasting and food pairing experience at the Gambino vineyard.

Worth every penny! Picked up from our accommodation by our guide for the day Carlos. He is a brilliant guide. The tour was funny, interesting, and I was gripped the whole time. He was really attentive to our needs and I felt well looked after. Wonderful tour. Great food and drinks. Gorgeous views. Cannot recommend this tour enough.

The Lady Etna tour was a fantastic way to experience both the natural beauty and history of Mount Etna, combined with a wonderful visit to the local Gambino Winery.Alex was one of the best guides we’ve ever come across. His passion, enthusiasm, and knowledge of Etna really brought the experience to life, and he made the tour both informative and engaging.The food and wine tasting at Gambino Winery was another highlight — fantastic local food, excellent wines, and a lovely atmosphere.
