Paihia Travel Guides (Updated October 2026)

Our guide Hamish & offsiders Bluebell & Saqkara were great. Informative, helpful & funny. The sights were great & the weather was fantastic. We were lucky enough to see Dolphins, Fur Seals & an Eagly Ray along with many birds & highly recommend this family owned business.

Wery exciting trip to Hole in the rock. The weather was sunny and no Wind. Perect. The Crew was wery engaged and helpful. Wery cosy trip. Plenty of room on the boat. We had booked the 3 hour tour, but there was not enough costumers for that trip. So They called me and asked if we would like to be upgradet to the 4,5 homer tour.

The best half day cruise with Blair our skipper and super friendly crew- Cass, Molly and Bluebell. A gorgeous day on the water with opportunities to walk, swim, eat and soak in the Bay of Islands charm. Very informative and fun 🤩

Lovely experience visiting the islands and hole in the rock with Island Getaway Tours, Paihia. Skipper Hamish, stewards Bluebell and Caroline did a fantastic job. Hamish's knowledge of the island's history was very amazing. Enjoyed the stopovers and walks. Great job guys.

We got a last minute booking and couldn’t have been happier! Bronwyn and her team were amazing - great commentary and friendly professional service. Bit bumpy out in the open sea, but made it even more fun and we got through the hole in the rock! Watched a brown seal with a large fish for about 5 mins. No dolphins but this is real life (have got a voucher for another trip in the next year because of this). Great stop at the beautiful Urapukapuka with stunning views from the trail walk. Would highly recommend this day! Thank you.

This was 10 out of 10 AMAZING!! Cass was incredible, her energy was infectious and she seemed to genuinely love this gig! We saw the Bay Squad of dolphins that surrounded and swam with our boat as we moved along. They were SO close, less than a meter from boat criss crossing underneath and jumping to our delight. Tons of them. Absolutely unforgettable experience. Our skipper Hamish knew the area well as a Russell local. Do the hikes, the views are incredible! All in all 10 out of 10. Stop in Russell for a bite at Duke of Marlborough on your way back!! So yummy! Cass, you’re the BEST!!

Rented 3 bikes (1 electric) for an out & back day of riding the Twin Coast Cycle Trail. Staff were locals and were friendly, knowledgeable & responsive, we even got some history & culture on the shuttle. Gear was in perfect condition - bikes even had comfortable seats, disc brakes, paddle shifters. Clean toilets. Great tips about the trail & a map were appreciated. They are co-located with the mountain bike park.

Really enjoyed this experience. The weather was fantastic and the trip out there and back was full of scenery and highlighting the local area. The captain was very informative and made you chuckle at times with his humour.

I would like Fullers to make note that they have an excellent skipper in Mr Taire Peters. (I may have his first name spelt incorrectly - if so, I apologise.) We went out on Thurs 18 June last, 2 weeks ago now, on the Hole in the Rock and Urupukapuka tour, and had a very enjoyable day due in part to near perfect weather and sea conditions, but also in large part due to the excellent handling and control of the boat and crew by Mr Peters, and his excellent, informative and good natured commentary of the whole area and about its relevant history. He is a very valuable asset to your company and its tourism venture in the Bay of Islands. My wife and our good friend who accompanied us heartily agree with my comments. Mr Peters should not be undervalued. He is a gem for your company. (I add that we have travelled quite a bit to various parts of our World during our lifetime (now in our 70's) and experienced many tourist guides in many different parts of the World. I have not been moved before now to write a review for any no matter how good or competent - but Mr Peters is exceptional and deserves high praise and commendation. The young women on the crew that day were also very good and also deserve praise for their high standard of competence and good natured interaction with all passengers. So, a deserved 'well done' to all in the crew that day but especially to Mr Peters. it is a fabulous tour to experience. And, yes, I have no personal or business connection with Mr Peters or with Fullers. This is an unsolicited review written in good faith. Dennis Jenkin, Auckland.

The flight was booked as a birthday present, the company were very flexible as we couldn’t use it within the time frame given. The team were so helpful and friendly, safety briefings clear, commentary chatty and informative. The stop on top of the Hole in the Rock was amazing! We had a beautiful calm day as well which was a bonus. Would highly recommend this trip 😀

The staff was very friendly and accomodating, especially Bluebelle. The sights were amazing and the snorkeling was so fun- they feed the fish while you swim!

The trike ride was a lot of fun with amazing photo stops. Make sure you were a hoody as very windy! 😉

Great experience if you like a bit of speed & something different. The guys were very informative, only thing was you could hardly hear them with all the wind noise.

It was a chilly day of sailing but Monique and Brad made the best of it. We had blankets to keep us warm and they provided a delicious lunch in a beautiful spot in the Bay of Islands. The sun peaked through in the afternoon making for a beautiful hike. We enjoyed our day with Bayscapes and would do it again!

While this was a very long day and a lot of time spent in the van, it was completely worth it to get to see the beautiful scenery and experience some very special places! We were very fortunate that any rain we had that day came from time to time during the drive and then there was some spectacular light and sun during the stops we made. We drove about 15 km right on 90 Mile Beach without anyone else in sight nearly the whole time! Gorgeous! Getting to see and experience Cape Reinga was awesome! A beautiful place with great spiritual significance to the Māori. Our tour guide Holger did a great job driving and showing us these special places and gave us extra time in those places at our request. (None of us chose to surf the dunes, which gave more time for the other activities). While sand surfing sounded and looked very fun, at my age, unfortunately it wasn't a good idea! I highly recommend this tour!

Very nice and friendly and it was very easy to get there and explained well and very helpfull. And tried to get hard on the water.
