The Getty Center
Come explore the delights of The Getty Center in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. The clean, crisp modernist style of the complex, designed by Richard Meier, lends itself to the scenic surroundings from its perch in the Santa Monica Mountains. Breathtaking views over Los Angeles and across to the San Gabriel Mountains interact with the architecture, extensive gardens and sculpted artworks to create an element of perfection.
The Getty Center welcomes1.3 million visitors each year, none of whom leave disappointed. The Museum boasts works from some of the worlds most renowned artists including Van Gogh and Gaugin. There are various photography galleries, terraces and gardens to enjoy as you take a relaxing walk around this magnificent hilltop location.
Located at 1200 Getty Center Dr, Los Angeles west of Hollywood, you can reach the Getty by train or buses which stop at Coastline Drive or Pacific Coast Highway at the Getty Villa entrance. If you drive, there is a street-level parking facility, from where a computer controlled monorail will take you up the hill to the Center.
The Getty Center is open Tues – Sun 10am – 5pm (Sat to 9pm). There are various places to eat, including a restaurant with stunning views over the mountains and Pacific Ocean.
