Everything was great! Loved the whole experience. Our driver was accompanying and knowledgeable. The hike was strenuous and a climb. Make sure to wear the proper shoes. After the hike you’re rewarded with the spring pools. And not to mention the spectacular views of the petrified waterfalls. A must do experience!

Perfect amount of time to hike the surrounding area and relax in the pool. Would probably be too long if you only went to the pool

The guide is very kind, explains quite a bit about the areas, clarifies any type of questions, and the time at each place is sufficient to explore it calmly. The buffet they take you to is very good. And the crafts that you see are of very good quality.

Excellent guide and service, very interesting and very beautiful places. We learned more about Oaxacan culture. We loved the explanation of how rugs are made and how mezcal is produced. At the Mitla ruins, the guide detailed everything perfectly for us. The only thing we didn't like was the dirty water at Hierve el Agua, the workers were barely cleaning, and there was a very unpleasant smell. It is a place with a beautiful landscape, and we believe that situation did not allow us to enjoy it well.

I thought that our guide would use more English as my Spanish isn’t solid. The tour was amazing. Just wish I had understood more of the content.

Good value with authentic/local guide. Extremely knowledgeable. Half a day good enough to explore the place. I would recommend a full day if you want an extensive survey of the site.

This was an exceptional tour! My friend and I were the only people who booked on so we ended up getting a private tour (we were very impressed that they didn’t cancel!) Francisco was an incredible and very attentive guide! He answered all of our questions, offered to adapt the tour to best suit our preferences and gave us time to explore each of the workshops ourselves. We really appreciated the time he spent in the market with us highlighting different local foods - my friend loved the enchilada he recommended! All of the workshops we visited were amazing, and we were grateful to all of the artisans for sharing their skills and expertise with us. We’re backpacking for a few months with limited bag space/budget so we took the tour to learn more about the local artistic traditions rather than to buy souvenirs from the workshops (as much as we would have loved to!). We were initially a little nervous when we were the only two who showed up that we might seem rude if we didn’t make purchases, but we needn’t have worried as there was absolutely no pressure to buy from any of the workshops. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone!

Amazing tour. Best way to see Monte Alban and all the other sites. Hector was a star. He explained everything in English to me even though I was the only English speaking in the group. He took photos and really helped me feel part of the group as a solo traveller. Don’t miss this tour.

Helpful to do before going to Monte Alban as preparation for what you see there. Quite amazing! Markets have lots of unique foods.

A magical day of so much art and storytelling, wonderful driver and guide!

Antonio gave us an outstanding tour of Oaxaca central. He took us to a number of the major sights and pointed out hidden gems along the way. It was an amazing orientation to the city which allowed us to explore it fully on our own. Antonio was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the city and having grown up and continues to live in the city gave us insight into the Oaxacan way of life. We would greatly recommend this tour early in your visit to get a great “lay of the land”!

The activity is all day which I found very nice, the guide very friendly and the driver like, overall everything was very good, traveled with my dad and we both liked it very much.

Arturo was the best guide and the experience was absolutely moving and beautiful and worth it to see the reverence and the love that the people have with their ancestors and now they sit and wait with them all night.

First time visiting Oaxaca. Our tour was July 10. Our experience was exceptional. Francisco was our driver and guide. He quickly became part of our family. Francisco was a wealth of information. While he is fluent in Spanish, he is able to communicate in English. This was the LONGEST tour, 12-13 hours, but the most rewarding. Worth every peso! This tour will take you deep into the Oaxacan Sierra, into the small towns of San Pablo Guelatao, Ixtlan de Juarez, and Capulalpam De Mendez.Driving up the mountain builds up an appetite; our first stop was Paraiso Los Encinos Restaurant. The service, atmosphere and food were top notch. The restaurant and the gallery are owned by the Gomez family. A member of the Gomez family provided a demonstration of how he creates a Molinillo, a wooden whisk used for mixing and frothing hot drinks. He turned a piece a wood into a Molinillo using his artistic, craftsman skill in 8 minutes, amazing to see it happen. Mr. Gomez, explained that this talents has been passed on for generations.With our bellies full we continued our drive up the mountain to our first town, San Pablo Guelatao, all the while enjoying the scenic mountain view. San Pablo Guelatao is the birthplace of President Benito Juarez, the first Zapotec indigenous president of Mexico. Not knowing Mexican history, it was fascinating to learn how this man from a small mountain town became the leader of a country. When you calculate the distance to the nearest city and see the size of this town, it is astonishing to learn how he rose to his accomplishments. We visited President Juarez birth place and learned about his family. A beautiful location for pictures.Our next location is not for the faint of heart. We drove to the Mirador de Cristal, one of the highest observation decks in Latin America (200m/657ft), not higher than the Skywalk at the Grand Canyon in AZ. To get to this location we drove by the town of Ixtlan de Juarez, literally a small quaint town. I would have loved to have walked the town but there isn’t much to see. The Mirador de Cristal, provides a breath take panoramic view. You can enjoy the beauty of the mountains and valleys and the town below, Ixtan de Juarez. Yes, I walked the walk, but chicken in me held on to the rails for dear life. It gets a little shaky at the middle when wind blows.After admiring the vista we drove to Capulalpam De Mendez, once again a small quaint town. Capulalpam is known as Oaxaca’s first “Pueblo Magico” – Magical town. We stopped at a beautiful 16th century church which houses 14 handcarved religious altarpieces which were brought to this location for safe keeping during a war.Capulalpam is mostly known for its traditional indigenous healers who follow medicinal traditions and plants to heal. This was truly a magical mystery tour. No drugs were involved. This was a spiritual reflective moment which is meant to reinvigorate the energy of your heart, your mind, and your soul. It started with a cleansing. A mind blowing experience that left me speechless. The healer pointed out incidents occurring in my life that no stranger would have known. She provided me with recommendations on how to heal myself. Next was a relaxing massage which, I believe, is used to remove the bad energy that affects your health. Lastly, the Temezcal. This is a sweat lodge ceremony used for healing and spiritual purification.We had the rare opportunity to experience all three services, 3 hours total. I recommend bringing swimming attire and a small hand towel for the Temezcal. There are no showers.Per Francisco, usually the groups are limited to 2 services. If I may provide a suggestion, for sure do the cleansing, then the massage or Temezcal is up to your comfort level. Francisco, you provided the best tour of my entire Oaxacan vacation. We appreciate your patience and your wealth of information. Thank you for kindness, your laughter, and most importantly keeping your eyes on the road driving up and down the mountain. Small group of just 7 people, so the transportation and the visit to the Hierve el Agua area were wonderful. It is a direct excursion to the natural area, without commercial stops. Good work by Valeria, the driver (I don't remember his name, but he took us and brought us back safe and sound), and the local guide from San Lorenzo who gave us the tour and explained everything phenomenally.
