My family and I had an absolutely unforgettable day with Franco! From the moment we met him, his kindness, passion, and deep knowledge of the Amalfi Coast made the experience truly special. As we hiked the Path of the Gods, Franco shared fascinating history about the region, stories about the local communities, and insights into traditions that brought each town to life.Beyond being an exceptional guide, Franco arranged unique food and drink experiences along the way that made the day even more memorable. The hike itself was breathtaking, but the highlight of the day was the incredible meal Franco and his sister, Angela, prepared for us at their home in Monteprusso. We were treated to a spectacular six-course homemade feast, with every dish more delicious than the last.Franco and Angela welcomed us like family and created an experience that went far beyond a typical tour. We left with full hearts, amazing memories, and a genuine appreciation for the local culture. The Absolute Highlight of Our Italy Trip! An Awe-Inspiring, Stress-Free Family Experience
If you are planning to hike the Path of the Gods, booking the Gastronomy Tour with Franco Trekking Positano is the best decision you can make. From start to finish, Franco and Angela went completely above and beyond to create an absolutely amazing, unforgettable experience for our family.
The seamless experience started well before the hike as their communication beforehand via WhatsApp was incredibly responsive and clear. They completely took the stress out of our day by expertly managing all the complicated transport logistics of getting to and from the trailheads. Once on the trail, they provided hiking poles and snacks.
Franco is an officially certified CAI and AIGAE guide, and his deep roots as a local forest ranger shine through every step of the journey. They shared incredibly rich history and ancient legends that brought the dramatic cliffs to life. Because Franco and Angela know all the locals who live up in the mountains, we had unique experiences you could never get on your own—including getting to help make sure the local working donkeys had enough water to keep them cool.
A wonderful surprise was their rescue dog, Sunny! She is the most enthusiastic, adorable hiking companion who brought so much joy to the trail. Franco and Angela were also phenomenal with our kids, perfectly managing the group pacing and taking dozens of amazing family photos of us against the most stunning backdrops so we could just live in the moment.
What really sets this apart is the beautiful hospitality. They provided delicious snacks along the route, culminating in an authentic farm-to-table food tasting experience. Franco even gifted us incredible homemade wine and savory sausage sourced directly from their farm.
Our family is so happy we completing this hike together. We enjoyed seeing the views from above far more than being in the crowded towns. It was a deeply moving, awe-inspiring experience that we will be forever grateful for. I highly recommend booking Franco Trekking for this hike or any other hiking experience if you’re in the Amalfi Coast area.

Not the Usual Tourist Experience-Better!
This was not your typical standard tourist activity. I wasn’t sure about reaching, the meeting point from our hotel as we didn’t have a car and we were concerned about the possibility of walking at night on steep streets that are not always well marked. I contacted Franco via What’s App. He responded immediately and said he would pick us up at the hotel and drop us off there. The first part of the experience was a hike along the Path of the Gods trail. This is not for the faint of heart as it can be steep with some rocky slopes! The scenery was spectacular and Franco, as a guide was a wealth of information on the flora and fauna of the area, pointing out the herbs and plants along the way. With our appetite now high, we returned to his home, a small generational farm in the same form it was probably in more than 100 years ago up in the hillside of Montepertuso. He showed us the small cave where they made capracole and aged it, and the wine the family makes each year using the old ways. We ate on the family upper patio with a view of the sea (and the local soccer field!). Try not to eat during the day, because Angela outdid herself with multiple courses of food made from their produce! We had Fiori di Latte mozzarella with wonderful sweet tomatoes, a pasta e fagioli, fusili with pumpkin, grilled peppers, capacola from their livestock and prepared by them, eggplant parmesan, two types of meatballs, tiramasu, homemade wine and I have probably forgotten some! There was a point where we could eat no more! After the meal, Franco and Angela joined us, we had more wine and talked about our families, life in Italy and the US. It was like talking with family and old friends. After, Angela made us a care package of food to take with us and they both accompanied us back to the hotel. If you are looking for a genuine experience, this is the place. This was such a personal experience with just the two of us and Franco and Angelo. It was just what we were looking for to remember this trip!

From the begining Franco was very responsive and answered all of our questions but unfortunately the hike was cancelled due to bad weather. Our money was refunded promptly and with no issues. I really hope I have the opportunity to have this experience in the near future.

Best food in Italy
My boyfriend and I were spoiled during this meal. It was a 10/10 must do. They prepared so much good food it was better than even the expensive restaurants we ate in Italy. If you want a peaceful true Italian 10 course meal with friendly loving locals. This is the experience for you. Thank for having us over!!

An unforgettable experience!
This Gastronomic Hike on the Path of the Gods was hands down the best experience we had during our entire trip to Italy! It’s a full-day adventure and definitely a challenging hike, so it’s not for everyone—but if you enjoy being outdoors, staying active, and taking in incredible scenery, this is an absolute must.Franco and Angela completely made the experience. They were amazing—so knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely passionate about the region. Throughout the day they shared stories, history, and local insight that made the hike feel so much more meaningful than just a beautiful walk.The lunch was beyond anything we expected—a true Italian feast made from Franco’s farm. Fresh cheeses, meats, bread, vegetables, and wine—it was all incredibly authentic and delicious, and felt like a special experience you simply can’t replicate in a restaurant.The hike itself is stunning, with unforgettable views of the Amalfi Coast. Path of the Gods
Franco is amazing. He shared a wide range of interesting info, from history to myth from plants to food, from things built centuries ago to how the locals live their lives today. Franco, Angela and John are all super kind and generous, putting in extra effort and mileages to accommodate the group’s need. Very much appreciated it!! Among all, Sunny is probably the one who won most people’s hearts. :) I will definitely recommend Franco Trekking for the Path of the Gods hike! Just one minor suggestion: traffic is unpredictable and packed in this beautiful region in the busy season, and that is totally fine and understandable, but better (or more) communication would help when one runs late so that those who are waiting at the meeting point would know what to expect. :)

Nonna Colomba is a MUST DO!!
If you visit anywhere on the Amalfi Coast, Nonna Colomba is a MUST DO!! Franco is an expert hiking guide and Forest Ranger who will take you up the mountain to a geological marvel, explaining every step of the way. Then, he and Angela will provide a true Italian feast in his home, overlooking the famous Positano landscape. The food is all homemade and outstanding. Really, I cannot recommend this experience enough; it is a must-do!

Food, nature and history
One of the highlights of our trip to Italy was the Path of the Gods Hike. It is such a spectacular location that every photo was a postcard. Our guide Franco was fantastic. He was so enthusiastic and engaging. The food that he brought from his farm was delicious and plentiful. Our stop at the shepherd's cabin was charming. His love and passion for the region comes through in his storytelling, and he is clearly known as a part of the community. Do not miss this wonderful experience.

If you like hiking at all, DO THIS!!!
We can't stop talking about how much we enjoyed this experience. Franco and Angela could charge WAY more and I'd still think it was a bargain. We (myself, 33, and my mother, 63) would recommend this experience to anyone who has any interest at all in the Path of the Gods. Franco and Angela were communicative, knowledgeable, generous, and kind. We made our booking very last minute (the day before!) and they weren't phased in the slightest. They picked us up at our hotel in Sorrento at 8:30am, drove us to the trailhead (complete with a couple stops for scenic photo ops in Positano, etc), took us on the hike with their sweet dog Sunny, spoke to us in perfect English about the history and culture of the Amalfi region, fed us a glorious lunch full of local produce, cheese, veggies, bread, wine, and HOMEMADE TIRAMISU, and then drove us home at 6pm. We loved every moment. Absolutely a highlight of our trip. If you are tempted at all, push the button! Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Grazie, Franco and Angela!!

Truly wonderful experience!
Our day was filled with delicious food and wine, glorious views, and great guides. The trail was easy to manage, and Franco is so warm and welcoming. We felt like family at the end of the day. Our group thought this was the best guided hike we had experienced! Both Franco and Angela were enjoyable to talk with and provided great information on the area. A perfect day!

Ultimate hike
By far the best, experience. Our guide Franco was the amazing ! He was very knowledgeable and took his time, explaining the landscape and stopped several times along the hike to assist in taking pictures and video. The lunch was the most authentic experience. Amazing hike, with amazing people
Franco and Angela are so knowledgeable about the path of gods hike. We had an incredible time, they made us feel like family. Booking with Franco helped us understand the nature of positano, the beauty the history of the people and land. Incredible hike, wear comfortable shoes, it takes about 3-4 hours total. They provided us with delicious food made from the city of Agerola, picked us up and dropped us back off at the hotel. Franco knows wine and makes his own, gave us a bottle of his white wine from his farm! We can’t wait to come back and hike with Franco and Angela again!!!

Amazing hike- highly recommend!!
We had a wonderful time on the Gastronomic Tour on the Path of the Gods. Framco is so knowledgeable about all of the history and culture in the area. He also led us on a good pace that was not too challenging. We loved our meal and homemade wine at the shepherd’s house. Finally, the views at all times were incredible. Highly recommend!!
