Top Squamish Climbing

My mum and I did this as a bucket list item and Maya made it exactly the trip we were hoping for. She was incredibly knowledgeable, entertaining, and took the best pictures. A wonderful experience we will never forget!

Great family fun, even with a nervous mum! Victor looked after us very well, and made me feel almost comfortable! (Not great with heights or big steps!). Husband and older kids were fine, youngest was nervous like me, but we got lots of good instructions, and once I realised it was all uphill, I was happier! Chose this one, as it had a minimum age of 8, so youngest could do it, and very happy with the choice. Easy pick up of the gondola tickets at the bottom.

We had an incredible rock climbing experience, and Ollie was absolutely phenomenal. He was knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, and made everyone feel comfortable and confident throughout the day. His positive attitude and supportive coaching made the experience both fun and rewarding.The company was also fantastic to work with. They were incredibly accommodating, organized, and helpful from start to finish. They provided all the equipment we needed, which made the whole experience easy and stress-free. We always felt safe, supported, and well looked after. Whether you're a complete beginner or have climbing experience, I highly recommend booking with them. We had an amazing time and would happily do it again!

My two boys (a tween and teen) and I booked a half day of guided rock climbing in Squamish with MSAA. Our guide Phil was outstanding, and we couldn't have been happier with his expertise, professionalism, guiding and coaching skills. Based on our climbing experience and skill levels, Phil selected one of the many granite crags in the Smoke Bluffs area to do some top-roped crack climbing. Crack climbing is quite different from face climbing or bouldering in indoor gyms, so this was a perfect learning experience for us. Phil was great at selecting routes, teaching and motivating the three of us. We had a blast, and would definitely climb with Phil and MSAA again! (Note: We met at the Squamish Adventure Center on Hwy 99, and Smoke Bluffs is just two minutes away. Very easy to get to! We're staying in Whistler, which is about a 45 minute drive from Squamish.)

We had a great time with our guide Eric for the full day lesson and tour. My son and I are in door climbers mostly. So the outdoor climb at the bluffs was great to teach us more about climbing outdoors and also we learned a lot about how to climb the cracks of the granite walls. Great day!

Amazing experience. Great guide loved it

Really keen to do the via Ferrata so booked the tickets including the gondola ticket. We weee able to go up the gondola just as a family of three (I had read it could be busy but it was fine) and the views were great with easy parking and good facilities at the bottom. Great communication from the Mountain Skills group we booked with and we met Fraser our guide at the allotted time plus there was one other person joining us. We got our harnesses on then set off on the walk to the start of the climb. It was steep in places to get down. Fraser was great and made us feel very safe plus was informative on our walk about the local woodland and wildlife. After going through another safety briefing we started our climb. It was scarier than I thought …but was amazing and the scenery (if you were brave enough to actually look down) was breathtaking. My 13 year old son and husband loved it…I was happy to get to safe land at the top but felt a real achievement. Fraser was a superb guide who was very reassuring throughout and extremely professional. A definite must have for adrenaline junkies! We did this on our way from Vancouver to Whistler and it was the perfect mid point stop.

The instructor Sam was great. Taught the basics of climbing and gained the first beautiful experiences.

Madison was fantastic. We are big climbers but yet to get into the outdoor climbing world properly and Madison gave us some lifelong skills while also giving us as much opportunity as possible to do some climbing. I did my first outdoor climb and first slab in the same go. Couldn't recommend more.

From the moment we contacted Mountain Skills Academy it was easy and professional. We booked our first half day and had Maya as our guide. We took our 5 and 8 year olds and they were hooked! The first day Maya made it so fantastic that we booked to have another half day with her on our same trip. She is experienced, knowledgeable, so patient and helpful. I cannot say enough great things about her, and she has a wonderful sense of humour!

I did a full day Sport Climbing Multipitch group course in Squamish with Evan Beatty as the guide.Evan was extremely knowledgeable as well as vastly experiened. He not only went over and demonstrated each part of the process well but also gave an in depth explanation of the advantages and disadvantages of using various ways to build different parts of the multi pitch setup as well as elaborating on what he would use in a given situation and why. This included different anchor setups, knots, types of carabiner, PASs as well tips and tricks that he uses to make his climbs more efficient.In addition to the above, Evan came across as being very passionate about what he does with an innate love for climbing which only served to fuel my own ambition to push myself further in this sport.Having completed the course I now feel confident in my knowledge of the multipitch setup and would be able to climb multipitch routes without issue. I would highly recommend this course, and especially Evan, to anyone wishing to take their outdoor climbing skills to the next level whilst being taught by a true climbing enthusiast.

This was such a fun tour! I had a great guide, Fraser, and he was the perfect combination of friendly, safety oriented, and patient. He took a bunch of pictures of me so I could focus on the experience. This via ferrata was NOT technical and only ~hour-ish, but you do need to be able to climb the equivalent of a ladder up ~150’ and be comfortable with heights.

Great experience. I did this tour with my mother, i in her 50s. Neither of us have done a Via Ferrata before. Nick our guide was informative & supportive.

It was amazing. The staff are wonderful and helpful kind. We started out doing good, but when we started to climb, I couldn’t do it. I had to turn back. We had two guides-Nick and Victor. I told my husband to continue and Victor stayed with me and helped me to hike back down to the starting point. I’ve done two before this one and it is amazing the adrenaline and the rush is incredible. I just couldn’t do this one. But WOW! You got to try it. My husband continued and he enjoyed it. .
