Uyuni Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

Fantastic full day tour organised by Banjo Tours. Our guide, Nadia Ponce Inturias, picked us up off our flight from La Paz and with the help of Zenon, our driver, dropped us off for the fabulous Todo Tourismo overnight bus back to La Paz. Nadia possessed an excellent command of English and was extremely knowledgeable regarding the geological history that formed the flats, the wildlife and vegetation. A red wine and cold meat surprise over sunset on the flats capped a memorable day. Thanks Nadia, Zenon, and Yanet in the Banjo Office for providing us with one of our best ever tourist experiences!!

It was just amazing. I went there in April and we were lucky to see both the mirroring effect and the white salt flat. Our guide Aida was great, she explained really well about the flat and took amazing pictures and videos for us. The lunch was really good too. I'd go there again going on this same tour.

Our guide was super knowledgeable of the Salt Flats area and took us to dry zones as well as wet zones. The experience is very different in dry or wet zone, so this was very important. His name was Jorge Luis.

Had a very knowledgeable guide that can tell you everything you want to know and more about the history of the area. Had some red wine and chips at sun down and got to see a great sunset with a reflection! Our guide refused to stop searching until we found the perfect spot to catch the sunset with a reflection which you don't always get to see due to rain and wind conditions being unfavorable.

Words cannot describe how magical this day was! George the guide was absolutely amazing and we got the memories and photos of a lifetime!!!We do not speak Spanish but happened to have a car full of English speakers. We made friends and had an absolute blast!I don’t want to spoil this for you but we had great food, local music, and extremely accommodating driver who actually understood and spoke some English. But really, the magic is visual and at extremely good price.So don’t hesitate! These guys are punctual and professional we cannot be more grateful!

Salt Flats were amazing. If you have the time, 3 day tour would be great to do with Red Planet. I only had time for the one day tour and the guides were awesome. Really fun and knowledgeable. The guide took us to a secluded area on the salt flats so we would be the only one in our pictures and spent so much time taking photos and had different ideas as to what we should do and try. Great day.

A visit to the Salar de Uyuni is an unforgettable and extremely worthwhile experience, regardless of who takes you there, but it is important to be aware of a few things regarding this particular tour. First, if you stay at one of the premier hotels, such as the Palacio de Sal or Cristana Samaña, your tour will say it begins at 10:30 am, but the earliest you will be picked up is 12:00 pm. This tour starts at the train graveyard, which is at the far end of the Salar, and you will simply miss that part of the tour. For us, it was no big loss, but if that site is important to you, take note. Second, the tour guide we had, while very sweet and competent about taking us to the other parts of the Salar we did want to visit, did not speak a word of English. We speak Spanish, so it was not an obstacle, but if you don't, it could be quite challenging. In spite of our late start, we had an extraordinary day, and we were able to see both the Salar as a completely dry salt flat and a huge part of the Salar at sunset that was still wet and mirror-like, so we had the best of both worlds. Our guide had promised us this, and he absolutely delivered, so if you'd like to experience both, planning a visit during the last week of April, which is right on the cusp of the wet and dry seasons, may be key. The Salar is like no place you've ever experienced, and I HIGHLY recommend it! You will leave with incredible memories and the best photos you've ever taken!

Incredible tour! There were a few different companies offering similar, so I wasn't sure which to pick, but this one was a great choice. The guides were really knowledgable, spoke fluent Spanish and English and were easy going. We spent some time at the Train Cemetery, which was good if not a little packed with other travellers before moving on to the salt flats. Lots of other companies don't give you lunch, or something like crackers and cheese, however, these guys provided a really nice, warm lunch with meat and vegetarian options which went down really well. The views of the salt flats were incredible, the expanse was breathtaking. Although lots of people were doing similar trips, the guide made extra effort to make sure that our group had our own space on the flats. They also helped our group get photos and generally kept everyone happy. Everyone was dropped back to their accommodation at the end of the day too, which was helpful. All in all it was an amazing trip, really glad I did it.

Really good tour and nice meal, everything worked out well. Kind of a long day, spent a lot of time riding around but it was cool to see.

It's amazing tour in Uyuni salt lake. The views of Uyuni salt lake are beyond description, but Driver is also very excellent guider. So I was pleased with many photes that he was taking. Driver is known to all hot spots, so I was very satisfied with this trip.
