Qaqortoq Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

It was enjoyable to tour at our own pace. The app made seeing the area easy as it showed you the trek and if you veered off course. The information given during the tour was engaging.

We had a lovely narrated walking tour in Qaqortoq. The guide was very clear in the instructions so we never felt lost. The stories were interesting, sharing local highlights and offering glimpses into the past centuries ago. There was one street with very colorful houses where I wished I had taken a pause to go explore, but that was no fault of the guide. The landscape is hilly, so be prepared to climb a bit to take in the whole tour. If stairs aren’t your thing, you can still see about 80% staying down where it is flat. All you miss is a vista view, an interesting carving, and a statue of a boot.

We were able to do the virtual tour before arriving in the town to be prepared for what we were going to see. This was a great way to introduce yourself to a little village.

App is a little difficult especially if you don't follow the tour exactly. Ours included stairs up the side of a hill that we wanted to skip. Information provided was excellent.

Used WalknTour app. VERY good once you learn how to use it ( be patient - well worth it). We saw sights the Viking tours never touched on - made the visit very interesting.

Worked well. We downloaded the app prior to our trip. Toward the end we got a little confused and turned around but worked it out. It added a lot to our walk .

This audio was a very good way to see this beautiful town. Walking on your own, you will most likely miss many spots.The reason I rated 4 vs 5 1. I needed to reach out to find out how to download before I left the ship’s internet. I received a very quick response that was helpful. It requires you to download an app 2. While in the town, it worked without internet, but I had intermittent dropping, requiring restarting, it did pickup where it dropped offBut I was very happy we made the purchase

Overall, the walking tour was quite good. It took a while to download the tour from our cruise ship since the internet access was not working very well, but that was our problem, not the actual tour. Besides that, there were parts of the tour where we couldn't see what was being explained, but the direction arrow in the tour app was helpful to see which way we had to turn so that was great. The descriptions explaining what we were seeing were very informative and thorough. Thanks!

The audio was well done and helpful. The maps could have been a bit more user-friendly, as the space they occupied was tiny on a cell phone and did not stay enlarged when expanded. But we found the turn by turn directions and the commentary very helpful in understanding the town. Well done!

Won’t allow for pictures to be taken without audio stopping. Had some good info. It wasn’t real expensive so it was okay

This walking app took me around the town to the sites of particular interest with stories. The walking pace was at my own pace and the app could tell when I was approaching the site. I liked that the app would keep me entertained on the way next to the site so I wouldn’t be standing at the site listening to a long narration. There’s a map in the app and I could switch to either the Apple or google map function. I did get lost a few times but that’s on me. The app did stop a few times and I had to start it again but it was good about starting at my location. Using the app was so much better than just going off on my own as I learned about the people and the monuments.

Great for a remote area like Greenland! Pre-downloaded it and used it without any wifi or mobile data. Covered all the main highlights of the area. Was on a cruise and very happy we used this app instead of paying big $$$ for ship's walking tour.
