Puerto Madryn Travel Guides (Updated September 2026)

A great day with Clara in Patagonia. We had a great day from our cruise ship to the north shore. We saw llamas, sheep, cows, horses, armadillos, Elephant seals and Sea lions an if course lots of birds. But the best was to catch the ORCAS at play. They hadn’t been see in 10 days. We saw a few of them. The only disappointment was that the picture made us think we would see penguins but we didn’t and they weren’t expecting us to as we would have had to go to a different area. All in all a great day though.

Great way to see Valdez Peninsula

most spectacular 'close encounters' with penguins and guanacos (wild llamas) imaginable...the one mile hike along the boardwalk affords the viewers countless very close encourters with penguins and their gosslings, as well as the occasional encounter with a guanaco.

A wonderful tour seeing so many penguins so close! And the toninas as well. Our guide was a real pro, very knowledgeable and really loving his job! Highly recommended tour that I would love to do again some dayz

Beautiful location where we saw as lions.

It was fascinating to see clusters of sea lions sun bathing at the beach. We were lucky to sight an orca evaluating his environment too 🐋

A great tour to absolutely do if you’re in Puerto Madryn. Very well-organized and our tour guide was super!

It is a 2 hour trip from Puerto Madryn to punta Tombo, but the reserve is very interesting, You are able to walk along the different trails , the Penguins are so noisy calling each other to nest, but they and also friendly to take pictures (but do not touch them)It is a 20 minutes walk to the shore where the colony is bigger and you can see them swimming. One comment there is no WIFI or internet so be prepared to pay lunch in cash

Lot of sea lions on the beach, but missed the elephants seals in February ！ Still a very enjoyable experience!

Clara was very knowledgeable and with all the information she gave us made a long drive to punta north to see the sea lions go by very quickly. And Eddie drove us and at the same time had a good eye to spot wildlife; lamas, all kind of birds even small owls well camouflaged. The total tour was 6,5 hours, the drive was about 325km in total and halfway we got a good lunchbox. Highlight were the Sea Lions.The only thing we missed where the Orcas, but even guide Clara had seen then twice 😀 I do recommend this tour. We had one hour spare before the all aboard time. We were traveling in a small group of 12.

Clara the guide and Eddie the driver were exceptional. We learned much about the region and saw many animals. We are very happy with the way our limited time here was spent.

We saw lots of birds. Armadillo, Sea Lions, Elephant Seals. Clara the guide was excellent as was Eddie the driver. They were very patient and Clara had excellent English.

Our tour with Sentir Patagonia Travel was excellent! Our guide, Clara was delightful! She shared so much local information with us - history - flora and fauna - culture - She was very knowledgeable. We would highly recommend this excursion!

Pierre was an excellent guide with great English. Really interesting trip to see lots of wildlife. Elephant Seals and Penguins.

Claudio was very informative and gave us useful information. Richard was a very good driver. We saw a wide variety of animals.

Finally, I made the full-day land excursion to the Valdes Peninsula, with an attempt to watch orcas. IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE, which gave me more than I expected as I had already been to Madryn and I thought I would see what I already knew. It wasn’t, it gave me a different view and it was like going for the first time. And that which the killer whales did not show! However, the advice I received and the tour guide were great. I highly recommend it!!
