What a mind-blowing incursion this was! From the eerie ghost resort of Varosha (abandoned after 1974 and still uninhabited today) to the bustling historical centre of Famagusta to the gob-smacking and incredibly well-preserved Roman ruins of Salamis (political and economic capital of ancient Cyprus for over a millennium, through Assyrian, Egyptian, Persian, Roman, and Byzantine rule), to the enchanting Bellapais monastery and finishing in downtown Kyrenia by the harbour. We are humbled by how much we learned about the ongoing painful story of these lands and the people inhabiting them. It was a privilege. Cemal is an amazing guide. I just wish we had more time in Kyrenia.

My travel plans included only one day in North Cyprus, and my goal was to see the “Saint Barnabas Monastery”, Saint Barnabas’ tomb, and ancient Salamis. Sirin was an outstanding guide for this. These were the first places that we visited on the tour, after which we went to Famagusta, the “Ghost Town” of Famagusta, and then spent some time on the north side of Nicosia. Sirin provided outstanding pre-tour guidance as I was flying into North Cyprus the day before the planned tour, but I was staying at hotels in south Cyprus. Sirin provided highly critical information pre-tour to help me navigate the border crossing that runs though the town of Nicosia. Sirin is very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I also got a kick out of how many other guides Sirin interacted with during the day. She is clearly well-respected and liked by so many other professional guides! I highly recommend this tour.

It was a very good tour. Our Tour guide Marina is very knowledgeable. She explain a lot about Greek side of Nicosia. Pick up from hotel on time and bring back to hotel. We enjoyed this tour

Fabulous trip up the mountains. Both monasteries were beautiful in different ways and our guide was knowledgeable, engaging and very funny. Our driver gave us a very relaxed and smooth drive; overall a most excellent experience all round.

This was a fascinating day and Sedat is a knowledgable and patient guide. We were met at the Ledra crossing and then the tour started with a visit to St Hilarion castle before we continued to Kyrenia castle, with its associated museums, and harbour and ended at Bellapais Abbey after lunch. It was lovely chatting to someone who had first hand experience of the events of the 1970s in Cyprus and also a wide range of knowledge on other topics. We were not rushed at any point throughout the tour and any explanations or clarifications I asked for were provided with good grace. The tour included all admissions and lunch too so we had nothing to spend the entire day, a lovely change. The weather wasn't ideal and we had some torrential downpours but were able to see everything that we wanted to with minimal disruption. The driving was very safe and the car modern and spacious. There were other tours that offered to visit more places but I feel they would have been very rushed and just skimmed over the highlights while we had over an hour at each location we visited which made for a more immersive experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour, it was certainly the highlight of our visit.

In two hours, we managed to see and learn a lot from the guide about the history of the city and the country. It was interesting and informative.
