Top-rated Kyrenia Attractions, Landmarks & More

What a mind-blowing incursion this was! From the eerie ghost resort of Varosha (abandoned after 1974 and still uninhabited today) to the bustling historical centre of Famagusta to the gob-smacking and incredibly well-preserved Roman ruins of Salamis (political and economic capital of ancient Cyprus for over a millennium, through Assyrian, Egyptian, Persian, Roman, and Byzantine rule), to the enchanting Bellapais monastery and finishing in downtown Kyrenia by the harbour. We are humbled by how much we learned about the ongoing painful story of these lands and the people inhabiting them. It was a privilege. Cemal is an amazing guide. I just wish we had more time in Kyrenia.

My travel plans included only one day in North Cyprus, and my goal was to see the “Saint Barnabas Monastery”, Saint Barnabas’ tomb, and ancient Salamis. Sirin was an outstanding guide for this. These were the first places that we visited on the tour, after which we went to Famagusta, the “Ghost Town” of Famagusta, and then spent some time on the north side of Nicosia. Sirin provided outstanding pre-tour guidance as I was flying into North Cyprus the day before the planned tour, but I was staying at hotels in south Cyprus. Sirin provided highly critical information pre-tour to help me navigate the border crossing that runs though the town of Nicosia. Sirin is very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I also got a kick out of how many other guides Sirin interacted with during the day. She is clearly well-respected and liked by so many other professional guides! I highly recommend this tour.

Very entertaining and informative tour

Sirin was very friendly and knowledgeable, she explained many things about Cyprus in general as well as the specific locations we visited. We spent a good amount of time at each location as well as getting a lot of information during the travel in between. Overall a great experience and would recommend doing

Wonderful trip to visit Northern Cyprus from Nicosia guided by a professional guide Who talked us about life and history in Northern Cyprus. Suha Sirin Is a very nice, gentle, prepared guide!

Our guide Sirin on the day trip to Famagusta was excellent friendly, knowledgeable, and very engaging. Highly recommended.

We had an excellent tour experience. Our guide, Cema, was very informative and communicative and helped to resolve any issues. We had a great time exploring North Cyprus’s history and culture. The sites were beautiful, we enjoyed the walking, and we had good food and drink.

Amazing tour and total experience. The communications between myself and Sidetours were efficient and super quick. This was booked one day and we departed the next. Our guide Mr Sedat is professional, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. He also has personal experience of this modern day history. I would 100% recommend this tour and company.

It was an incredibly rich and rewarding day. From the hauntingly quiet streets of Varosha (the Ghost Town) to the stunning coastline of Kyrenia and the historic depth of Nicosia, every stop told a different story. Our guide was not only knowledgeable but genuinely passionate, making ancient ruins, medieval monasteries, and modern-day divisions all come alive. The tour felt well-paced and thoughtfully organized, with plenty of opportunities for photos, rest, and questions. The combination of nature, history, and cultural insight made it feel like three trips in one.

Picked up at The Bellapais Hotel. Contacted by guide very quickly, as to time and pickup. We had a wonderful day with our guide. Would well recommend her, very informative and friendly welcoming. Thank you for a great day and experience.

I had a great experience on this tour, visited very beautiful places in North Cyprus and learned a lot about the region's history. Kyrenia is a very beautiful place worth a visit undoubtedly. The guide gives enough free time and is quite flexible on that. Really recommend this tour.

Highly recommend this tour. Our guide showed us all the sites mentioned, and it wasn’t rushed. We had plenty of time to see all the sites, get great information from a local guide, and make beautiful memories.St. Hilarion Castle was the star of the show for us!

Sirin ( pronounced Sheerin) was a fabulous tour guide! Starting out by going through the crossing point at Ledra was super easy from Nicosia and very interesting. She was there on the other side timely and met us to start out adventure. As we shared a cup of coffee in Bellapais, she shared some history and went through a map of the region. Sirin has a vast knowledge of the country and we enjoyed our day with her!

We had a pleasant afternoon in the north part of Cyprus. Gemma who guided us was very kind and knowledgeable. The view from the Castel and and the Ebby were very nice.

The tour of Nicosia and Kyrenia exceeded my expectations by far. I had a memorable day getting deep insights into the life and history of Northern Cyprus, whilst enjoying the architecture, city life and landscapes that we passed on the tour. I can highly recommend the guide/driver Şhebnem.

It was so nice to visit the historical sites and learn about the culture of Cypriots from a perfect guide who made our day unforgettable.
