We spent 6 days in this little paradise. De Silva kite school is very professional, the lagoon is perfect for beginner kiters and Safris, the instructor, is just amazing ! He was previously a champion and he gives very precise advises which enable us to improve very quickly. We felt very safe is the lagoon which is not overcrowded. The environment is very friendly, good material, amazing staff. The resort is on the lagoon (no car needed to join the kite training area), it is a great advantage. We highly recommend this place for beginner and experienced kiters

nice athmosphere, great people and good food perfect place to learn kitesurfing! water is nice and warm and it's safe in the laggon! instructures are professional und friendly! we enjoyed it a lot!

The team at De Silva’s are great. Everyone from the office team lead by the wonderful Nalika to the bar, kitchen and house keeping we so courteous and friendly. Nothing seemed to much stress and so nice to see a group working together in such a calm way. Upul has done a great job and is an excellent ambassador for the region. I am an experienced kiter so did not take lessons but watching those that did they seemed to progress steadily thanks to the smiling and always happy teachers.I did a few excursions organised right from the front door. No issues and all were worth while. And nice to be able to do these solo too without having to join a group tour.If I have one tip, work on the coffee. As most Sri Lankans drink tea you can cut them a little slack on that one. Food was very good and you can also prearrange meals like fresh lobster!I was sad to leave the camp and will definitely be back, perhaps for a summer visit next time.

We are a couple We come to Sri Lanka to practice for the first time Kite Surfing. Yeah this was unforgettable very friendly & professional instructors it so much fun! The staff very nice and friendly. We Spend 5 days to learn Kitesurfing The lagoon is super safe for beginners! We love to come here again and again, the whole crew is very professional! Every time there are innovations and from time to time both resorts become more and more beautiful. The new restaurant also offers pizza and thuna steak! The kite material is top and the instructor team is really great!

We had a fantastic time at De Silva resort with my friends. Surfing facilities are unbelievable.I never felt like a hotel guest but I felt I belongs the Resort family because of the way hotel staff treated us. All my friends also felt fantastic and we had lots of fun. Rooms are fantastic and also swimming pool facilities also very good. Special thanks to resort staff and the instructors.We had a chance to meet Mr.Upul and his lovely wife Katy.they also very humble people and friendly. My 2nd visit here in Kalpitiya. De Silva windsurf resort is just right beside the lagoon, perfect for a kitesurf holiday!!!The crew and instructors here are very friendly, food is simple and great, the surf cabana accommodation is nice and comfortable.And most importantly, they got me riding, as what they say they will do!!!

This is my 4th visit , I love the crew and the visitor there. And of course the good wind here.😆 I do windsurf and they do offer a lot of Tabou board. Palm resort stay is comfort with air condition. So I can back to my comfort zone after a windsurf/ beer time. Instructor Pathum is nice and he ride with windsurfer as a friend🤙🏼 A lounge corner in Windsort is a good place for beer 🍺 and talk with each other no matter you do the kite or windsurf. You will love De sliva windresort and enjoy your kite/windsurf trip with the crew here. Don’t miss the chance in the windy season ! South West wind there is very fun and you will enjoy it~

De Silva Kitesurfing Schoole satisfied my expectations to the fullest: the teaching that I took during two days was more than professional, it was fast and tailormade. Boris who is a very experienced Kiter picked me up from my basic level and within two days made me waterlaunch.He even was so kind to bring the kite equipment to the spot as I stayed in a different hotel due to late booking and took care of cleaning which usually is a task for the students. EXCEPTIONAL!!

I stayed in De Silva with my family to learn kiteboarding and I can really recommend this school as all of us learned kitesurfing during our winter holidays! The instructors are very friendly and helpful! Especially Gihan the rescue boat driver made a lot of fun with our teens :) We also got the VDWS beginer license and rented top equipment after the course! For sure we will come next holidays to improve kitesurfing and than we will stay in their new hotel as they also provide one with a really nice swimmingpool! Thanks to China at the Bar and the amazing staff around the hotel!

Wanted to escape European winter and maybe catch some wind on our journey. The resort is the place to be in the Kalpitya Lagoon and I would highly recommend it: super friendly employees, excellent local food adapted to European taste and bearable spiciness, free drinking water available all day. The resort is well kept and still growing. Windsurfing: I didn't take lessons, but rented windsurfing gear. usually not the brands I sail, but equipment was brand new (unpacked and first time rigged for me!) with skiny mast, boom with reduced diameter. You actually forget that you are almost in the middle of nowhere. You know again, when the owner of the resort personally drives the Landrover over almost flooded dirt roads to the meeting point with the airport shuttle. Yes, there is a downside too: the lagoon is quite muddy, wind was a bit gusty that day and we had to leave after a week to see more of beautiful Sri Lanka. Definitely a place to return!
