A great tour! Leo picked me up right at my hotel. He is young but he knows his stuff and is an excellent guide! He goes at a good pace - fast enough to see a lot of things but slow enough to actually enjoy them. Would gladly take another tour with him.

This private tour was amazing!! We had such a great day with our guide Leonard. He made our tour comfortable and relaxed. We had great conversations and he is very knowledgeable. The tour itself was very interesting and varied; although it was a long day, it was worth it! It is a good way to discover the Republic of Moldova in one day from Iasi. Big thanks to Leonard, who made our day unforgettable.

It was a very informative tour, but the city itself is definitely worth visiting, the city that historically located on the territory of Moldova and is now the third largest in Romania. Especially outstanding is historical Palace of Cultures with its architecture, also St. Paraschiva Metropolitan Cathedral and many more buildings. City itself is clean, decorated with lots of flowers.

I came away from this excursion with a great appreciation of the history and culture of Iaşi and the region. Leo was delightful to visit with and had an immense depth of knowledge.

My wife and I enjoyed our tour of Iasi, Bucovina, and the Painted Churches, and our private 2 day tour of Moldova this past September. Our Rolandia contact Adelina was very responsive and helpful in setting up our itinerary based on what we wished to do. Leo was our excellent driver guide who was fun, energetic, and knowledgeable. He was also very flexible and willing to add or subtract from our itinerary based on our wishes. The company helped set up a transfer for us, and when the transfer was unexpectedly no longer needed, they refunded the transfer. Rolandia provided us with a top notch experience at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Rolandia for private travelers wishing to visit Romania and Moldova.

We had a wonderful time on the trip to the Neamt fortress and the surrounding area. Leonard was very helpful and knowledgeable, telling us both the historical facts, local legends and new developments in the area. He was very friendly, drove very nicely and was very attentive to our interests. We fully recommend this trip!

This is the second time we have used Rolandia for day trips and adventures leaving from Iasi. The first time was for cultural heritage tours (the driver was lovely and the guide was spectacular!). The trip was unbelievable and made so because Rolandia were perfect in every way. The staff, communication, professionalism and then the itinerary and guide. They were amazing...and so we returned hoping that it wasn't just a one-time luck. But it wasn't. Again..on this trip they were super helpful, so kind, so lovely to work with in the office....and the driver was absolutely amazing...letting us stop and take photos, going out of his way to make sure we had enough time in each place. Just brilliant. It really couldn't have worked better and I highly highly recommend them!

We had a great three days with Rolandia in and around Iasi .On Day One we were met at the airport and then driven to Bucovina to see the Painted Monasteries. They are fabulous and our guide, Otilia, was superb in explaining the history, the paintings themselves and their religious significance. It was a long day but well worth it.Day Two was with Nicu who drove us into Moldova to see Capriana Monastery, Cricova and Old Orhei. My wife loved the wine tasting and my favourite was Old Orhei which is set in a great landscape. It was another super day, with great conversation with Nicu who is an excellent guide and driver.Day Thee was with Mihai, another super guide who teaches at the university and who showed us the vibrant city of Iasi. he then drove us back to the airport.All three guides were exceptional. Not just in their guiding but in the interesting conversations we had while driving, eating or walking. I recommend them!Our trip was originally planned in 2019, then rescheduled three times due to the pandemic, then re-structured when flights were suspended from Chisinau and we had to return to Iasi. So they can be flexible and fitted our trip around what we wanted and were able to do.

If you are looking for a way to spend your day hiking, pretty close to Iasi (approx. 3 hours driving) this is one of the best choice. And if you are going with Lucian as your tour guide your day will turn out to be amazing! I've took this tour on a October sunny Sunday with a group of 6 adventurous girls from Iasi. I've been interested for some time in Via Ferrata Astragalus route but didn't had the perfect companion to go through it. And Lucian helped me make my dream come true. He is the perfect person to go on this tour: he is very knowledgeable, passionate, experienced in escalating/hiking (or any other outdoor experience, for that matter), and a very pleasant company. The route offers a good combination of breathtaking scenery and adventure. Lucian is always there for you giving instructions and encouragements, if needed. After we accumulated some adrenaline from the first route we also tried the Via Ferrata W. Ferenc (perfect for pushing the limits, and getting out of your comfort zone). As a bonus, Lucian showed as a secret place from where we were able to observe chamois, which was also amazing. I totally recommend it!

We were thrilled with our tour of the beautiful region of Bucovina and surrounding Moldavia. We could not have had a better experience than with the Rolandia guides, Madalina in Iasi and Iulian in Bucovina. They both created an atmosphere of cheerful welcome and a spirit of discovery, as well as being extremely knowledgeable and interested in engaging with us. With only two days to visit four monasteries, one fortress, a castle and two museums, our tour of Bucovina was quite packed, but Iulian organized our time very professionally without making us feel rushed. Iulian was also a great driver and used the time in the car as an opportunity to educate us about a variety of local customs and other facts about the region. The painted monasteries well deserve their UNESCO recognition--they are incredible pieces of art and architecture, totally unique to their place and time. Iulian's explanations of the historical and religious contexts in which the churches were decorated were more than invaluable and went far beyond anything we had in our guidebooks. We also greatly enjoyed the Popa museum with its collection of folk art and artifacts. The included hotel stays consisted of two nights in Iasi and one night in Gura Humorului--in Iasi the 4-star hotel accommodation was comfortable and we appreciated the ample breakfast. In Gura Humorului, accommodation was of a completely different style, in rustic cottage rooms well off the beaten track. Here we really felt like we saw a true slice of Romanian country life. We were served fresh milk from the cow and "placinta" cake made by the hotel owner. The contrast between the urban stay in Iasi and the experience of the more rural areas was an interesting aspect of the tour. The included dinner in Bucovina was an incredible experience--all the food was sourced from a local farm and delicious, if heavy on meat. In all, we had a terrific and fun experience and would highly recommend this tour. It was perfect for an American couple and their adult daughter living in Romania to spend family time together.

We had an absolutely amazing experience on the day trip from Iași to the Painted Monasteries in Bucovina, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Leo.From the very beginning, Leo was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.
