Highly recommend Our Island Tours! Our guide, Pedro was extremely knowledgeable on many subjects and an absolute delight! I’m so grateful for his tour of Faial and especially sharing the parish of Salao where my grandfather was born in 1871. I had very little family info what was most meaningful was seeing the pieces saved from the church that was destroyed in the 1995 earthquake now part of the new church. Seeing and feeling the lava stone baptismal font my grandfather was baptized in was quite emotional. I plan to return to the beautiful island of Faial…for me it has a beautiful peaceful presence. The Faial Ten Volcanoes Tour with Our Island Tours was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. From my initial inquiry through the day of the tour, everything was handled quickly and professionally.Our guide, Luis, was fantastic. He has been doing these tours for several years and clearly loves being outdoors and sharing his knowledge of Faial. He was very knowledgeable about the local flora and trees and did a great job adjusting the pace to our needs and preferences.We hiked for about five to five and a half hours. It wasn’t an extremely difficult hike, but it definitely wasn’t an easy walk either, with plenty of ups and downs. The scenery was beautiful and incredibly varied—we walked through woods, pastures, and areas filled with flowers, with some sections cool and misty, others windy and exposed, and still others peaceful and protected. It was amazing to experience so many different landscapes in one hike.We chose not to complete the entire trail so we could have some time in Horta before catching the ferry back to Pico, but was very happy with the decision.Overall, it was a beautiful and memorable day. Luis was knowledgeable, personable, and attentive, and the company was professional throughout. If I return to the Azores, I would definitely book additional tours with Our Island Tours. Highly recommended!

Our half-day tour of Faial with Rachel was absolutely wonderful! Rachel was an excellent driver and made sure we got to all of the must-see sites, while also taking us to some of her favorite viewpoints and beautiful beaches that we may not have discovered on our own. She was also an amazing photographer and captured so many beautiful memories for us along the way. What really made the tour special was Rachel’s incredible knowledge and insight into the island. You could tell how much she loves Faial, and she shared so many interesting stories and details that made the experience even more meaningful. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Rachel to anyone looking to explore the beauty of Faial!

We did two day trips with Luis and Pedro: the Caldeira descent and the Pico banana tour. They are both incredibly knowledgeable and passionate in their own way about their islands. We had a great time and both private tours were memorable and definite highlights of our stay. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Experience. The whole family was impressed of the views, nature and the hike itself. We were guided by a great guide who helped us very well along the Descent. As bonus we had a total clear view, with no clouds. Just for reference, when the description says "small trail", it's really small at some sections: you can only place one foot after the other (not next to eachother).

That was a beautiful day tour. Joo took a lot of time to explain and show us a great deal. We saw a lot of the island, much nature, great views, the tour was planned just as we wished. Our cousin group of six booked a full day Roots tour with Our Island. Our guide, Pedro, picked us up in a van where we were staying and drove us around the island, stopping at places that played an important role in our family history. We also stopped along the way at the UNESCO vineyards and whaling ports. We had a delicious lunch at Fonte in Lajes do Pico. The highlight for me was seeing the churches where my immigrant 2x great-grandparents were baptized. Pico is a beautiful island, and Pedro showed us the island at a leisurely pace, which was great for our senior group. He was very accommodating of members of our group who have mobility issues. Pedro is knowledgeable and personable. Our group enjoyed our time with him. Liliana helped us design the perfect tour with a mix of family history and information about Pico. I highly recommend Our Island Tours!

We were able to book the day before and received a quick response. The staff at Walk-In-Blue was very punctual at the meeting point; Anna guided us on the island, introducing us to the main attractions while providing us with varied information. We dined in a typical place, it was generous and friendly.

We highly recommend booking with Joao on Faial. Exploring the Caldera, learning a lot about the eruption of 1957, and taking advantage of his expert knowledge base on every single plant we saw made our day unforgettable. His truck is able to go places where we did not see anyone else! If you want adventure with a very friendly person, booked this tour.

Ramiro was fantastic! Would book with him again in a heartbeat. Very personable and since he grew up on the island knows so much about it and was able to share that information with us along the way. He even took us to a great lunch spot (Restaurante Rumar) and made sure we were back to our cruise ship in plenty of time. I never worried about timing as he had a handle on it! The volcanos and calderas are amazing on Faial - there are so many you really need an island tour to see the full scope!

Luis was our guide for the Ten Volcanoes hike. Luis was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the hike telling us about the flora along the way. The hike was manageable if you are active, but challenging in some sections, especially the last 1/3. If you suffer from a fear of heights it was all very manageable. The whole experience from booking, being picked up, driven to the trail head, guided throughout the hike and driven home was flawless. The price was very reasonable for an all day hike. Would highly recommend Our Island as a tour guide.

Our cruise ship would not let us get on the tenders to go ashore. This was a last minute decision by the captain yet I was able to contact the tour guide with ease. He was very understanding and even facilitated our refund. We will definitely rebook with them when we try to come back to Horta.

Excellent way to see the beautiful island of faial. Our tour guide made our experience extremely memorable. My 86 year old mother loved seeing her island from this perspective!
