Top Long Beach Outdoor Activities

We had a group of 16 of us from all over North America to Long Beach on a sales reward trip and this was a perfect little sunset cruise before a dinner we had planned. They narrate the trip to give you some history of the area, the port, and other landmarks and it is a fun way to learn more about Long Beach. I would recommend it for a group activity.

Traffic was so horrible and I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to make it on time. I didn’t make it on time but the staff are so friendly and the boat ride was amazing. The staff was very helpful and helped me make a later reservation. I enjoyed the staff members and the view while I was inside the boat was amazing. I can’t wait to visit again.

I was not gonna make to my flight. I went to wrong address. And I know if I lose my flight I have to pay again and sometimes there are full and there’s no availability taste an hour later. I got a call from companies saying that they have available place if I would like to take it using my payment that I already make that was amazing. I was so sad at first and then they make my day.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about the guides at Jetski2Catalina. From the moment we started, they were incredibly positive, supportive, and attentive. I felt completely safe and genuinely taken care of under their watch the entire time. They handled a large group with ease, and remained attentive to everyone’s safety. When there were a few more rambunctious personalities in the group, they handled those situations effortlessly while still keeping the experience fun for everyone. I was continually impressed by how aware they were of everything happening around us. What really pulled at my heartstrings was what happened toward the end of our trip. During the last 45 minutes or so, the guides received word about a pod of bottlenose dolphins, and they went out of their way to make sure we got to see them. When we did…I cried. It was absolutely majestic and one of those moments I'll never forget. I'm sure these guides have seen thousands of dolphins. It's probably something they encounter regularly as part of their job, but what struck me most was how genuinely excited they were for US to see them. They could have easily treated it like, "Yep, there's another pod of dolphins," and moved on. Instead, they were just as enthusiastic about us experiencing it as we were. That really stayed with me. It showed me that they don't just do this job, they care about the experience they're giving people. They haven't become so accustomed to these incredible things that they've lost the excitement of sharing them with someone experiencing them for the first time. I appreciated that more than I can put into words. One more thing I really want to say... I did this entire excursion by myself. I have plenty of friends, but for one reason or another, nobody was able to join me. Some were nervous, some had previous injuries, and some just couldn't make it work. I almost let that stop me.I'm SO glad I didn't.If you're waiting for someone else to be available, waiting for a friend to feel brave enough, or waiting for the "right" person to go with you, just go. You could be missing out on something absolutely incredible while waiting for someone else's schedule, comfort level, or circumstances to line up with yours. I went alone and never once felt alone. The guides made me feel safe, supported, and included from beginning to end. The Catalina experience itself was incredible, but the guides are what made it unforgettable. And seeing those dolphins while watching the guides get excited for us to experience it...that's a memory I'll carry with me for a very long time. 10/10 experience. I would do this again in a heartbeat.

Maverick Helicopters is absolutely the best! Most pilots are retired military pilots and with this experience, I am always completely at ease. They take your safety first and explain all you need to know. This was our fifth tour and all have been excellent! On today’s round trip, our pilot was Dave. He is retired from the Marine Corp. I was immediately at ease with him at the controls and enjoyed the trip. You cannot find a better helicopter service!

Went on a ride for my wife's birthday. It was a great experience. Little bit tricky finding the place but once we did everything went real smooth. All the staff was friendly and our pilot did a wonderful job flying and being our tour guide. Telling us fun facts about the city we never knew. Making the atmosphere a very pleasant one. We plan to go back and take another tour

Amazing, my wife and I love it, we have our first experience in the helicopter and we were very excited. The pilots were amazing, very knowledgeable and friendly and kind with us, being our first flight. They made us feel safe and we had the best experience of our lives. Thank you

Let me start by saying I'm absolutely terrified of heights, but Jay and Avaree made me feel so safe, even while I was screaming and cursing at everybody. They were so informative and made it fun and definitely both making me laugh the whole time. I can't wait to go back but just to say hi cause it's scary. ;)

This was a private tour. Lots of information regarding the area shared. Several different stops. A hike in a nature preserve, beaches and a bike tour.

Amazing experience! We started early in Long Beach, met our guides Zack and Ryan, and got our wetsuits and safety briefing. It was a little foggy but the ocean was so calm it felt more like a lake. At our first stop we saw some sea lions. Not to long after that we encountered a pod of dolphins. Seeing the dolphins up close, and in the wild was worth the whole trip.At Catalina Island, we had plenty of time to eat, hike, and explore. By the time we left it was a clear blue sky. We stopped to swim through some nearby caves, and then headed back to Long Beach. The return trip had some larger waves, but overall, it was a great adventure. The guides really do a fantastic job, I highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for an adventurous day on the ocean.

Great experience learning to fly helicopter. Tough gig, but nice challenge and very different activity.
